Sizing down animated gifs

is there anyway to size down gifs, without loosing the animation?

Yeah. You have to have the right programs though. You should get Animation Shop 3 for that. I've sized down a couple animated gifs at my other board. You just have to have the right programs, animation programs for stuff like that.

I seem to think there was a GIF Optimiser at some point... might want to do a few searches for that and see what you come up with (I don't do much in the ways of animated GIFs.... so.... )

I found the GIF Movie Gear program to be helpful.

why the heck are you using gif? just saying you know that takes ten times longer than png.

For one, PNG isn't as widely or properly supported by browsers (and I'm assuming this is for a web page, that's about the only thing people use animated GIFs for, and as I recall, the PNG format doesn't support animations, there was some other format for that as I recall.

i think it can now it does support it now as long as you keep updating your browsers you will be fine

The animation format is MNG (Multiple-image Network Graphics). I use PNG for my web site alot. Although, it doesn't always render correctly in Mozilla. I'm not too sure about IE though.

png works ok in ie, the only MAJOR problem, that i cant believe hasnt been worked on is png's alpha support
png has what i think is the best alpha channel support, but the most used browser(ie)doesnt support that part.

anyways noz is right, you can use imageready
its very simple

Shareware is where other people online share the same files, and use something where they put a file, and then other people download it. Like Kazaa and Kazaa Lite. I hoped that helped.

lol that's not shareware, shareware is a trail version of the program your thinking of something else

Right. Shareware is where the author gives out a copy of the program to evaluate, and then if you use it and want to keep it, you are expected to pay for it (with many, additional features are unlocked). As a shareware author myself, please, support shareware and register the programs that you're using. We appreciate it
