Remember these anime?

Postby Petite Soeur » Sun Jul 31, 2005 5:27 pm

I have been watching anime since the age of two. I had known for a while that the Grimm's Fairy Tales Classics that aired on NickJr during the late '80s-early '90s and the CBN-dubbed Superbook and Flyng House were anime, but I was surprised to discover that two of my other favorite shows when I was small were also anime--the Noozles (Fushigi na Koala Blinky) and the Lil' Bits (Mori no Youki na Kobito-tachi: Berufi to Rirubitto). Does anyone remember any of the aforementioned titles?

I remember a little about Lil' Bits. But I love and remember Noozles very well. I was six years old when Noozles was around and watch every ep of it.
Sandy (the girl) that owned Blinky (the koala) found out he was alive and come from the Koalawalla Land. Later, Pinky (Blinky's little sister) showed up and they tried to go back to Koalawalla Land.

Barbara Goodson played the dub voice of Blinky. She had done alot of voices of the years, Outlaw Star.

Has done voice work in
Samurai Champloo
Scrapped Princess
Tenchi Muyo Movie 2: Daughter of Darkness
Tenchi Muyo! GXP
The Twelve Kingdoms
Wolf's Rain
Outlaw Star
Cowboy Bebop
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie

Cheryl Chase, who did the voice of Pinky. Does the voice for Angelica in Rugrats all these years.

Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics! I used to watch that all the time, but could never remember the title.

Superbook and Flying House rule too.

I used to watch the Li'l Bits. That show was awesome. (well, it seemed awesome when I was little) I don't think I've seen the other show though.

I've seen Superbook and Flyinghouse on TBN, but I don't think I've ever heard of the other ones.

Oh shoot, what am I talking about? Yeah, I also remember Flying House. I'm not sure if I have actually seen Superbook or not. I loved Flying House though. It's been many many years since I've seen them though.

I think a bunch of people here remember Flying House and Superbook. A lot of us started out in anime that way.

*explosion* (why isn't there an exploding smiley? There should totally be an exploding smiley.)

I SO remember the Lil' Bits. I even have a book about them. They were kinda like the Borrowers, ne? And I sort of remember the Noozles...very very vaguely.

Now I have to go do research. *squee*

Superbook and Flying House rocked! Like many of us, that was my first foray into anime. Even today, when I'm at home and have something anime on, if my mom comes in the room she often says something like, "Those look like the Flying House kids."

I kind of remember Noozles and Li'l Bits, but more in name. By the time those came along I was probably past the target Nick Jr. demographic. (I guess I'm the old man in this thread  .) I do remember the Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics, though. I also very vaguely remember the show kazekami mentioned about the cities of gold. It seems like it was maybe called "Seven Cities of Gold," or something like that (not sure of the exact title).

Now, here's a classic... major props to anyone who remembers Leo the Lion. CBN used to run it in the mornings along with Superbook and FH.

We still have one of the tapes of the Grimm's Fairy Tales. I've never heard of Noozles or Lil' Bits.

We have Flying House and Super Book on SkyAngel, but I don't care much for it (give me action!!!).

I think I vaguely remember the Noozles, but it wasn't called the Noozles. I was in Germany when I saw it, and it was called something else. Weird.

CandyCandy was very cute, T-chan. ^^

I loved Superbook, Lil' Bits, and Grimm's Fairy Tales when I was younger. I never caught any of Flying House until I was older, though.

If anyone is interested, I have plans in the future to put up a Grimm's Fairy Tale mini shrine on my site. There's not much info on them that I can find (other than episode listings) and I think they should be remembered. I have most of the episodes, so they'll be story synopsis and screenshots. This is a future project, though. ^^;

OK, why won't anyone get the license for Superbook or Flying House? It can't be the Christian overtones. If that's the case, then why is Trigun so popular?

Isn't the Christianity a little more direct in those series than in Trigun? I've actually never seen either...eep.

Yes... SB and FH told outright Bible stories. It wasn't merely symbolism or overtones... they were taken straight out of the Bible (except for the more conversational dialogue, the modern day scenes at the beginning and end, and the kids being there  )

Good research. Hey, I was at least somewhat close to the title. ;)

I may have actually watched those in VBS without realizing what they were...not that I would have known at the time, anyway.

Unfortunately, I was never a big fan of that type of stuff. Except Veggietales...and hey, that's just quirky. Which I like!
