Michael Bay TMNT

Postby Mullet Death » Thu Mar 27, 2014 6:47 pm

So, I haven't watched any in a long while, but I used to be a huge Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan, so I'm just not quite sure what to think of this upcoming movie. I liked some of the things he did with the Transformers series, because I like to be blown away by action and effects at the theater.
But something about the trailer and things I've heard about the movie kind of leave a bad taste in my mouth. Does anyone else have an opinion on this? Gonna see the movie? :eyebrow:

Nope.
That looks bad. Wrong tone, wrong look, wrong attitude. Half of the shots could be from transformers.

Yeah, Michael Bay: fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I am not going to watch your abomination of another treasured childhood memory.

His use of creative licence in stating that the turtles are from an alien race is too much, even for me.

"When you see this movie, kids will believe one day that these turtles do exist, when we’re done with this movie. These turtles are form [sic] an alien race, and they’re going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely loveable."

I don't want to completely write this film off as it may turn out to be quite good, but the likely result is that it will just be a big budget title with lots of explosions and special effects, but light on the story.

As someone who more-or-less enjoyed the first and third Transformers movies... this looks like utter garbage. Though I think the item that gets me riled up the most was Bay's decision to cast Megan Fox as April. Just. Why.

Upon seeing Mikey's shiney lips I went NOPE. And then I heard Jonah Hill's voice and I wanted to pull my hair out. So tired of hearing and seeing that guy in every other movie. And just, yeah didn't help with the whole look of Mikey.

I'm currently completing my BA for Animation & Visual Effects so my classmates and I are really critical of CGI films... especially TMNT liveaction adaption. MMMMM....

Good to know that Megan Fox's blackmail pics of Michael Bay are still paying off for her.

Lord knows that's the only explanation I can come up with for her career.
