I'm a major Trekkie, and I thought it was pretty good. It didn't seem much like I was watching a Star Trek movie to me, though. But I did enjoy it. :)

i only saw a few episodes of Next Generation... I wasn't that old when it was on, at least not old enough to understand XD.

But I LOVED this movie...It was hilarious, and serious and kept me on the edge of my seat!

I did notice what some others have noticed; Kirk should wear a metal neck protector... he gets choked A LOT!

oh, and my older sister was squealing about Spock... the ENTIRE time..which was a bit annoying...something about how Zachary Quinto plays him??

This.

Lol, my little sister was squealing the whole time because Captain Kirk looks exactly like my brother with blond hair.

It was ok, I didn't care for the show and I thought that they should have done something better with the story. I don't know, maybe it's just me or maybe the fact that I'm not into Star Trek but I didn't like the movie much. :/

I went to see it Thursday while I was at the beach.
My thoughts are that everything was changed when the Next Generation Romlin ship was sent back in time and killed Kirk's father and changing everything about the universe.
If you listen to Spock Prime he met Kirk's father when Kirk went to Star Fleet.
Maybe the next movie will have the crew find some way to change what had happen and everything will fall into place like Spock Prime has said will happen.
Spock Prime must knows something.
I don't think Spock's planet was suppose to be distoryed.

I saw it, I liked it, but I'm still a dyed-in-the-wool Star Wars fan. *turns on special filter that blocks out the word "prequel"*

I thought that the dialogue and character interaction was more interesting than the actual plot and Zachary Quinto made me temporarily stop hating him. What I don't appreciate is that
they made Kirk captain of the Enterprise despite his frequent and unapologetic insubbordination and Spock stepped down from command permanently due to one (entirely understandable, given Kirk's behaviour) emotional outburst
but like I said, the characters are what made the movie.

Late, as always...

Holy crap, now, I will always be a die hard Star Wars fan, but... HOLY CRAP. STAR TREK WAS AWESOME.

This movie is right up there in my all time favorite movies.

I just got done watching it 15 minutes ago. I am in awe.

WOW.
