The Eragon trailer is (finally) here!

Postby SnowLeopard » Sat Sep 16, 2006 2:22 pm

I just watched it and boy does it look cool! I'm really looking forward to this movie just for the dragon effects. I still am not sure about how true it will be to the book, but I think I'll go to see it just for Saphira alone.

The trailer can be viewed here

Yay!!! Saphira looks like Christopher Paolini described her (not like the front of the book)... I talked to him on the phone (long story...), and he gave a pretty good description of Saphira. That's pretty cool! (He said she doesn't look much like the dragon on the cover, because "her chin isn't that big" XD)

Anyway, I'll probably see it. Though I hope they don't mess up Murtagh (my favorite character).

Sadly this will probably be more a "Dungeons and Dragons" movie, then a "Lord of the Rings" quality movie. It can easily exceed the book if done right though.
Probably get an M rating here and a PG-13 in the US.

I thought it looked like D&D too... I've never read the books and this didn't make me really want to either. But man, if I hadn't known what it was advertising ahead of time, I would have sworn it was gonna be D&D II... and Jeremy Irons is in it too just to top it off...

Actually, the trailer doesn't look THAT bad... but have any of you seen the poster? One of the worst posters I've seen all year... It looked like that Uwe Boll Dungeon Seige Poster... blah...

Anyway, I'll see this on video just cause its a fantasy...

I've talked to him on the phone, but we're not friends or anything. (Truthfully he kinda gets on my nerves...... he has an ego.)

Anyway...I doubt it will get an M rating. The book wasn't as violent as Harry Potter, which got a PG rating here. (I don't like Harry Potter and I don't read it, for the record.)

Hahaaaa, Kaemmerite... XD

The book was much more violent than Harry Potter! I didn't read dead babies impaled on spears in the Potter books.
And yes, I've noticed on all his interviews he has a massive ego.

The movie looks good. I hope it stays true to the book.

I also hope Warrior's prediction will not come true and that it will have a LOTR quality to it.

If you think it will have LotR quality your dreaming. LotR movies had great source material to begin with. I don't think I'll say anymore. *bursts out laughing*

She doesnt look at all like he described her...

Im deeply disappointed...

if you remember he described her as having two long teeth near the front of her mouth.. I think it MAY have mentioned two smaller ones underneath it.. but neither of those aspects ar here... GAHHH

Ahahahahaaaa!

I find it somewhat sad that people are hoping for it to be like LOTR. If it's good, it can stand on its own two feet.

Now allow me to rant because Dragonlance is going to be an animated movie while THIS BOOK becomes live-action FIRST. ARGH.

Hey, if it's a well-drawn and well-acted animated movie, then that's okay by me. There haven't been enough good animated films lately...unless Dragonlance is going to be CG. Then it can burn, for all I care.

Grah, agreed. CG is highly overused.

Anyways, I haven't read the books (I heard they weren't all that great, and I don't have time to read a some-thousand page book that's not great), but I may or may not end up seeing the movie. Pretty much leaning towards "may not," but anyways. XD

(Eh, I wasn't impressed. It looked very low-budget. Though that may just be that I'm a very critical graphic artist... Yeah, that's probably it.)

(I do like how Durza turned out, though. I was kinda skeptical about him, because I imagined him more... bishie evilish, but he turned out just right. Brom rocks, too.)

It's going to be 2D, with some integrated 3D elements. (I'd assume like Treasure Planet or something.) lOther than that, we're all being kept in the dark.

I'll check the Trailer later, but I might see it. Dunno yet. Personally (involving dargon-themed stories), I think I might rather see a movie of the Pern series or such. >_>

The book was much more violent than Harry Potter! I didn't read dead babies impaled on spears in the Potter books.

Ever read Animorphs or Remnants by K. A. Applegate? o_o
