The Dub/Sub Game

Postby Tommy » Sat Aug 19, 2006 1:31 pm

It works pretty easily.
Someone mentions an anime that has been dubbed and the person below shares if they liked the dub or sub of that show more. I will start with myself.

Trigun
Sub/Dub

They would've been tied but Wolfwood sounds too young in the dub and too much like Vash that I get them mixed up.

Other than that, they're the same.

Next Show:
Naruto.

(Quick Note: One Piece cannot be used as a show.)

I'm sure this game will end soon since a handful of anime are in the states compared to Japan.

Dude. This is going to turn ugly. Especially with shows like Naruto being involved. I thought we already had an understood rule of 'not to discuss' whether we do or do not like the Sub or Dub. I can understand what you were trying to do, but I can tell you right now it's going to turn bad.

People could cause it to avoid it getting ugly if they answered maturly. People have opinions and a show can only be used once.

One extra rule :

No quoting someone elses' opinion and sharing yours on the same show.

That would be the gateway to ugliness.

I have to agree with .....well both of you. It will most likely turn ugly when someone says they do or don't like the dubbing of Naruto or anyother anime. But as Tom stated If we act maturely then it actually seems like it would be fun. I'll play once a anime comes up I know about better. I don't watch Naruto.

dub.Ok I am mainly a dubber to begin with but for variations sake do watch the subs from time to time.To be honest I still have to get around to watching the sub
version of Escaflowne. The reason I do enjoy the dub is because it contains two of my favorite North American VAs:Kirby Morrow as Van and Kelly Sheridan as
Hitomi.

SUB
Because many of the jokes are related to Japanese culture and only make sense in that context. Also, the attempts at English are HILARIOUS in the sub.

Howl's Moving Castle:

sub /dub

Haven't even seen the sub ^^, but I thought Christian Bale's voice didn't sound appropriate at all for the kind of character Howl was.

Norman and Roger don't sound quite that good in the original, and Dorothy's got a monotone going.

- Mark Driscoll

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promises, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word, that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things."

Well, I've not seen either, but I'd probably start with the dub, just because it would be the first readily-availiable thing.

This is a really hard choice, but I'm going to say....... Sub. It doesn't make much difference to me though, since I love that movie to ITTY BITTY WIDDLE PIECES.

Uhm. Pardon me.

In order to keep the thread moving, please add an anime when you pass over one...

Anyways. I've not seen Chrono Crusade, but I would pretty much go with whichever version was most readily avaliable, if I ever chose to watch it. I'd lean towards sub, though.
