Jars of Clay - Good Monsters

Okay, Jars of Clay is one of those bands that I like but I don't think about much. They're pretty mainstream, CCM and all that but that doesn't change that they're very talented. Their new CD is coming out September 5th, it's called Good Monsters.

They put three songs from the new CD up on their myspace. They have kind of a Franz Ferdinand dance rock flavor to it, but it's distinctly Jars of Clay. The vocals on it are fantastic and it has a good feel. I can't wait. Go to their myspace (http://www.myspace.com/jarsofclay) and listen to Dead Man. It's good.
I'm a shoe-in for hater of the year.

I love and respect JOC so much for the huge variety of music they've managed to produce over the years. I am very excited for their new cd. I hope I can catch them on tour sometime this year.

Their featured artist right now, Leeland, is pretty impressive too. You guys should give them a listen too. ;)
"So David said to Michal, "It was before the LORD, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the LORD. And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor."

2 Samuel 6: 21&22

"I am going to take this bucket of water and pour it on the flames of hell, and then I am going to use this torch to burn down the gates of paradise so that people will not love God for want of heaven or fear of hell, but because He is God."

That's quite the change, but I'm glad that they're avoiding stagnation and trying new things.

Gonna miss the folkie sound though :(
