Hehehe. I didn't know the specifics but ... (Most people probably don't want to highlight either of these spoilers, BTW)
I knew they were related in some close fashion because of an action-oriented mini game released at a convention in Japan earlier this year. Hakuoro's special attack and the special attack of that angel dude were identical, but opposite in color.
Ok, so I watched 16.
This one was a pretty peacful episode; not much really happening. The new info about Kamyu is interesting, though I do wonder why she was so thirsty...Anyways, Kuuya looks like she might be an interesting character, as well. And I'm also quite curious to know what she looks like. It also seems to me that the writers of the show are forming a relationship between Hakuoro and Eruruu now moreso than before, so I'm interested in seeing where that goes. xD
A good (though somewhat uneventful) episode; I'm anxiously awaiting #17's subbed release! :D

Kuuya is actually quite cute; not as cute as Aruruu or even Kamyu, but still cute.

(Funny: "Kuya" is actually Tagalog for older brother).

Ok. I think #17 was the biggest load of "cute" I have ever seen. XD
Gachatara is SO adorable!! Aside from one or two questionable scenes, this episode was so cute and funny, and quite enjoyable! I think it's meant to be the much-needed "calm before the storm," since the next ep looks a little more serious (also taking the ominous ending as a hint, too). Kuuya seems like quite an interesting character; I certainly hope they develop her more! Anyways, on to episode 18! :thumb:
I SO need to catch up with my subs (being away from the comp for a week, which was 2 weeks ago, can really leave you behind^^) So, I JUST watched ep 14 a few mins ago, and I see what everyone was saying about the art style :/ In my mind, it looked like it was meant to be experimental, because one thign I DID notice was that the violence was turned up just a couple notches in that ep. So maybe the art style helped convey the action a bit more or something? *shrugs* That's all I have to say abotu the ep for now^^ And it might take a bit for me to get fully caught up @_@... Gots too many shows on the go to watch^^

And that ends my conversation here. Utawarerumono has been licensed by ADV.

I'll rejoin the conversation when the DVDs are released. =)

Has it really?? How exciting!! Well, I downloaded #18 (I've yet to watch it), but I guess this means that all distribution of the show via torrent will stop now, right? That's a little dissapointing (since I don't want to buy the later episodes without knowing what kind of content is there...), but still, I'll be sure to buy several of the volumes! I'm glad ADV got ahold of it, too, they'll treat it right. How cool!! :thumb:

EDIT:
ANN wrote:ADV announced that they have licensed Utawarerumono, which will be released in North America under the name Shadow Warrior Chronicles. It is expected to be released early 2007.

Shadow Warrior Chronicles...? Well...that doesn't exactly translate, and I'll still be calling it Utaware, but whatever. XD I hope they do a good job with the dub...! :D

And I'll still be calling it Uta :P Well, I know that already the title itself is a head scratcher. I'd say a more better translation would be "That THING Being Sung" instead of "The One Being Sung". Not surprised someone picked it up right away though^^ Maybe I'll wait for a thinpack release... dunno.

anyways, 17 & 18 were awesome. Very funny at points. And kawaii overload!!

Now that it's licensed, though...I wonder if AS will ever decide to pick it up? It's *sort of* the kind of series they'd be interested in...what with all the battles and shounen-y ness. Though I think they'd probably have to edit a lot, but who knows. *shrugs*

Shadow Warrior Chronicles? Not only does it have only a vague relation to the original title, it's also just as unwieldly!

Well, that's just wonderful.

And I was afraid they would actually translate the title.

EDIT: I just KNOW Yesy will drop the project--stupid laws and all--but I'm hoping someone will pick up where they left off. Even if it is [Your Mom].

Well, some subbers vary. I mean, I know ALOT of them wait till the actual DVDs have a date set to be released before they drop them. Heh, Anime-Keep for example acknowledged that Noin was licensed, but when they found out Beet and Beet Excellion were licensed they were like on the main page: "Note: we do not concider Beet Excellion to be licensed yet" or whatever they said. I mean, it's a VERY common thing for subbers to keep going till the show ends on Japan TV and stuff... so I wouldn't be surprised with Uta too... SOME subber will at least finish it up.

Right; even though it's off AnimeSuki (the entire show), Yesy still has all of the current episodes up, and I hope they'll stay that way until the series is finished. I know that a.f.k. kept their torrents up months/weeks after Full Moon wo Sagashite was licensed (in fact, they may still be up, I haven't checked in a while), so I'm sure someone will keep going.

Change topic:

Oboro doesn't like vegetables.

Benawi is about to suffer a nervous breakdown one of these days.

It seems Urutori is useful for more than just window dressing and lecturing Kamyu. Ep. 18 disproves my theory that she doesn't fly because she's fat. She doesn't fly because she's lazy.

And what kind of friend/ruler/friend's older sister would allow Yuzuha to tag along on a "vacation" to a war-torn country?

 Right. XD I watched this one last night, and while I thought it was really cool, they could have left out that whole...scene with Karura...totally wasn't necessary. :shady:

I was thinking the same! XD She IS kind of sick, after all. And another thing, who takes a "vacation" to a war-torn country, anyways? XD I thought that was a funny scene, though, especially with Aru-chan. So cute!

In a minigame I have, it is possible to play as Yuzuha. She doesn't really fight; she's kinda slow and has little health. But the way she attacks is by summoning other members of Hakuoro's team to her aid. Unsurprisingly, the first person she summons in a combo is Oboro.

Well, I actually finally got to ep 15...
I hate sadistic characters like Yue :/ I mean he's all like "show me the beast!" (heh, where else have I heard that form) and just wanted to live to see Hakuoro's true power... looks like he got what he asked for :/ Horribly mangled, too :/
Show's picking up once again^^ It's just time and other anime that distract me from this one^^

Since Yesy is being so slow to release ep. 20, they MUST be considering dropping it.

Oh well, here's a look at the newest villain:

EVIL EMO BUNNYMAN!

I really hope they don't drop it. I watched ep. 19 earlier this week, and if there's only supposed to be 24 (or was it 26...probably 26; correct me if I'm wrong) episodes, I'd really hate to not be able to finish the series when it's so close to completion. Reason one would be that I don't want to have to buy it without knowing what kind of content is on the latter discs, and reason number two being that...I really want to know how it ends! XD But yeah, they're bringing new characters into the series still; I find that interesting. I want to know who the pink-haired bunny-looking girl from the preview is, too. XD

Pink hair? The only new bunnygirl I can think of is Sakuya (who btw is a brunette). According to Wikipedia, she is Genjimaru's grandkid.

[Your-Mom] has subbed ep. 21 but no one has subbed ep 20. YM is doing a particularly craptacular job, translating proper nouns as "New Orleans," "Detroit," "Canada," etc.
