Cowboy Bebop Movie?

Postby Tommy » Mon Jun 05, 2006 3:44 pm

I just put this on hold at the library.

1) Does this contain spoilers for any points of the series? (assumes so?)
2) Is this more innapropriate than the show in any way?
3) Is this the only CB movie?

My status in the series: *Started Today* Episode III.

1. Nope, not at all.
2. No. It's right about on par with the series.
3. Yep, it's the only one.

1. No, because the movie is within the series and after the series. I think the movie takes place after ep 22, but I'm not fully sure.

2. has been answer already.

3. And yes, its the only movie out there of CB.

It takes place between session 23 and 24, I think one should at least watch up until that point before seeing the movie.

Yeah what he said though it's not totally neccesary. There are two major characters though that will be introduced in episodes 4 and 9 and it would help you better to understand them more. You could still get by either way without being confused. That's one of the great things about Bebop is it's so accessible no matter which episodes you watch and when, for the most part.

I'll pretty much echo what the others have said on points 1 and 3; however, I should point out that, if you've been watching Bebop via Adult Swim, there will be content in the movie that you wouldn't expect to see in the AS censor. However, if you're watching through DVD's, you don't have a thing to worry about. And really, I don't think you've much to worry about anyways. I don't remember there being too much objectionable content in the movie, other than language and violence (I do recall a questionable scene with Faye and Vincent, but it's nothing that you wouldn't see in the series *coughJupiterJazzpartIcough*).

I've seen the movie without ever seeing the series and still enjoyed it so I wouldn't worry.
Will insert something intelligent here later... maybe

Heh, I comment about this movie twice today, it seems.

Read the post I made in the "'r?'" thread if you want to know the content of it.

The movie technically takes place just before the final story arc of the TV series, but I think as long as you're past episode nine or are already familiar with the entire Bebop crew, you shouldn't run into anything you can't understand.

(Episode nine introduces an important character to the Bebop universe.)

Worry about what...? It has nothing to do with liking it, it's about continuity. The movie stands alone just fine, but watching the first 22 sessions will give you plot, character design/development and context. Then watching the last three sessions ties everything together.
