Has anyone seen this?

I think it's really cute!! I ahve only seen the first 3 episodes.

I think it's kinda like The little Mermaid Meets Sailor moon.. ^_^

I just got the first volume of the manga today. So far, I like it a lot. And your description is really right-on, ChristianRonin. That's exactly how I'd describe it. I'm a big fan of both The Little Mermaid and Sailor Moon, so it's perfect for watashi.

Ashley! The artwork for MMPPP Looks A LOT like the woman who does FMWS and KKKJ... I I know it's not..but it really looks a lot like it...what do you think?

I started a forum like this discussing its second series. (You just add Pure to the end of the current title and you have the name of the second series.) I think its a pretty good mahou shoujo. ( I think it is better than Tokyo Mew Mew). It definitely is Sailor Moon meets Little Mermaid. I watch it mostly for the Little Mermaid nostalgia and I hate to admit, being a boy and all, that I like some the songs. I just ordered the first volume of manga and I know a great place to download episodes. Just ask me and I'll PM it to you.

I tried reading this series-- Then it got [ In my opinion ] really cheesy. x.x; It was Sailor Moon + Full Moon + Little Mermaid + Cheese = Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch. I would suggest it for younger readers definately. Really cute style.

It is a bit young..but then again.. Kaito's humor is kinda mature... It's rated all ages by ANN I think...

I am just watching it through youtube that's all... I think the anime is lisenced...by ADV but I haven't seen anything about releasing it onto DVD at all.

Only heard of the series... but oh no! Shouldn't have shown me that pic! Bright colours - not good >_< It's what got me hooked on Tokyo Mew Mew (and the kittiness of course^^) but the anime was mostly entertaining because of the colours 0_0.

Okay well... don't get too excited about how clean this show looks girls. I haven't read the anime I've just seen most of the first season and quite a few episodes of the second season of the anime. The first season is decently clean I guess there's a lot of magic and that sort of mumbo jumbo. I thought it was very cool that they sing but after about 25 episodes of the same songs I was ready to hit the fast forward button. :lol:

The second season is a BIG dissappointment. Reincarnation plays a big role in the overall plot, and there is this boss evil guy who claims to be the creator of the Mermaids and their powers. Then his two main henchwomen give a lot of yuri fanservice. It was a big disappointment actually. I have no idea how similar the manga is but I wanted to warn you that the second season is definately not as clean.

Are you talking about the Black Beauty Sisters? They give off the fanservice I think worse in series/Season One because their first song's stock footage has them almost kissing at one part. (sort've disgusting given they are actual sisters)

Yup the Black Beauty Sisters (odd considering neither one wears black). They really grossed me out a few times, it got to the point where I would skip through anytime they were talking in order to avoid the yuri fanservice. :shady:
