Neon Genesis Evangelion movie casting call

Note to mods: this is only in reference to the upcoming movie. I hope this doesn't mean this thread will be banned.
As many of you know, a movie is being made out of Evangelion. Who would you like to see play which character. Here's who I think would work:
Shinji: Haley Joel Osment
Gendo Ikari: Jonathan Frakes
Ritsuko: Gates McFadden or Kate Mulgrew
Misato: Kate on Lost
Kaji: Sawyer on Lost
Asuka: Hermione of the Harry Potter movies

For my part, I desperately hope the live-action NGE movie never happens, so...

Sure condense a 26 episode series that was rushed at that pace into a 2 hour movie... at best it will have a superficial resemblance to the original.

I suspect fanboys across the world will take offense at whoever is picked to play Rei, judging the ones I know...

It's been in the planning stages since 2004 as I recall (it was a topic on the listgroup I belohnged to before I joined CAA). I think on the net you can still see the concept art. I had hoped it had died but I guess not

Well, New Line Cinemo DOES have the rights for a Monster movie, which was 74 episodes.

But it's possible they may A) Make it long or B) make it some sort of Trilogy.

They are making a live action death note movie by the way. Death Note is a manga

As for the actors. I would never want to watch a live action movie based off of an anime with american actors. If anything, please give japanese actors and a japanese studio. Heck make everything japanese... Haley Joel Osmond as Shinji? No way man. That totally just does not fit.

I know that the movie is "different" from the series mentioned in the DND list, but I think it's best that we refrain from discussing the movie, as well. I doubt that it will be that much different in terms of its controversial content.
