Someone clear up this Final Fantasy 7: AC deal for me....

I just have a few questions regarding this film.

1) Is it just being released on PSP only?
2) The current release date is within this month, right?
3) Is it worth the money to buy a PSP?

1.Not just for PSP... netflix doesn't have PSP movies, only DVD.
2. Yes
3. NO, but the billion other cool features on a PSP that totally rival an iPOD make it worth buying

Like Bob said, it'll be released on DVD as well. However, I've heard that it may not be released until the end of this year. This information comes from ff.warcry.com, which stated:

" (February 5, '06) According a news post on Joystiq, Mike Stanford, a director of the Sony US DVD division, have said that the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children will see the light of the day in the US at the end of the year."

I honestly hope this is false info, because I'm getting pretty sick of waiting to buy it. XD But anyways, unless someone has heard otherwise from another source (hopefully a more reliable one...), then that's the way it is for now. :(

Wow, this SUCKS.

Seeing Cloud and Tifa in those outfits in KH2 gave me hope.

I can remember a conversation in an older thread:

January 2005

Me: Yeah judging from what I see, I bet it won`t come out until next year.
Saviour Sora: Um...I doubt it will come out that late.
Me: Can`t I share my sarcastic sense of pessimisticsm....

UGH....

...you DO know that the date is set and solid for the 25th of this month (April), right? Sony's site says it, AnimeonDVD says it, Rightstuf says it...

Amazon's still showing an April 25th release date, and Sony Pictures' website says the same thing, so I REALLY doubt that it has been pushed back to the end of the year. I have no idea why the release date was pushed off initially, but hopefully this will come out soon.

They've been advertising a lot more extensively, so I really doubt they'll put it off any longer. Personally, I want to see it mostly because there is supposed to be deleted scenes, though I am vaguely interested in the dub. It's likely that someone I know will buy it.

Meanwhile, you're questions have been answered fairly thoroughly.

It's already been dubbed--a friend of mine attended the US premiere. Being an FF fangirl she nearly died XD So it should be coming out fairly soon.

Next you'll be telling me Jessica Simpson is voicing Tifa *cringe*

I have seen the dubbed version, it's a little confusing. Maybe it's just me. But i prefer dubs anyhow, for animated stuff anyway.

The voice actors used in Kingdom Hearts 2 are the voice actors for the Advent Children dub.

Yes. Cid will sound like a redneck. Everyone can shudder horribly and throw rocks in Sony's windows now.

Also, I have heard Vincent's voice is really bad. Steve Blum will be playing Vincent. Now, Steve Blum is a good voice actor...but...I just can't see him as Vincent, no matter how hard I try.

Mena Suvari isn't a good Aeris in my opinion, either.

However, Cloud's voice is good, Barret's is apparently excellent (Beau Billingslea is playing him), and Crispin Freeman is Rude. Yuffie's voice is also perfect, and Tifa is pretty good too (Rachael Leigh Cook is playing her).

Aw, I really enjoyed the sub, not only from an artistic view, but from a gamer's view, too. I think it was really well done, absolutely gorgeous action sequences, and plenty of throwbacks to the original game to make this gamer happy. XD Also, 40$? I figured it would be more in the ballpark of 20-25$...

Amazon is selling it for about $18, so $40 is a bit high.

Well, it really wasn't meant to be an epic. Just a money-making movie in which the fans can see all the characters again. That was part of why I was annoyed that the film was so Cloud-centric. We want to see other people too.

Hopefully he will show a lot of vocal variety. Because I would be fairly disappointed if Vincent's voice was bad. As I've already said, of course, Sephiroth's voice is the one that worries me.

If the DVD has a dual-track, will it matter? :p

Yeah, though the fight scenes were still pretty amazing (which is the whole reason I really saw it XD ).

It would likely be for the immense amount of fighting (about the last 30 minutes of the movie, among other things). There is only blood at one point near the beginning, and it is a fairly small amount. Otherwise, no one's physical appearance seems adversely affected by any amount of damage.

Other than this, there wasn't anything that usually gets a movie a higher rating, such as sexual content.

Thank God in FF7..
Midgar was destroyed
Because otherwise, they would fit the Honey Bee Inn in that movie somewhere.

Can you give me examples of people that Steve Blum plays?

EDIT: OTHER than Cowboy Bebop.

My question is this: can you watch it with little or no knowledge about the FF universe and still enjoy it? I've never cared or even tried the FF series (so sue me...), but the CG looks impressive and I might rent it if I can get into it without having to play the game.
