From ANN...

"New Ghost in the Shell Related Anime (2006-02-22 11:35:09)
A recent announcement by Bandai Visual mentions a new Ghost in the Shell related anime. Very few details are mentioned, only that the project is a cooperative effort between Production I.G. and Bandai, and that they anticipate a release sometime soon. The video also mentions that more news about the GItS series and other projects will be announced during and after the upcoming Tokyo International Anime Fair."

And well, don't forget about the orginal movie and Innocence. I mean, who knows. Maybe this next one will be based on those two *shrugs*. Didn't exactly say that it would be yet another Stand Alone^^

I'm guessing it would be Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, since there is some stuff in SAC that fits in the two movies as. I hope that its another SAC, because I like them better. But they could really make alot of SAC eps, if they take some parts from the movies and from manga.

Maybe it will be more focused around Batou. You never know. But it would be interesting if they put him from out of under the Major's shadow for an entire series.

I've only recently been following the GITS; SAC eps, another ahowing tonight actually. But, how are the OVA's? Arn't they just remakes (way better quality) of the existing shows? I'm not entirely sure.

I cant say that I am excited about another Ghost in the shell series. While the show certainly has great prodcution values, it consistantly crosses the line of what I would consider apropriate viewing.

The vilolance, while often grafic, is not really the hang up here. The shows blatant sexual immorality sets off hundreds of red flashing lights and alarms in my brain. I recall watching one episode where they were basically going to a sort-of sexual party, where people swaped bodies and had sex with one another... Certainly not somthing I would want to share with my Savior, and not somthing I should subject my mind and spirit to.

3 thumbs down. I wouldnt even mess around with this one. Buying/watching it (even if its the 'not so bad' episodes) only encourages them to make more stuff like this. >_<
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

The worst I`ve seen is some nude female experiment. That was in GitS one.
In Gits 2, the worst I`ve seen was those numerous guys that slashed off each other`s heads.

When was that? Although I've been following mostly the dub of the first season I haven't heard of anything like that hinted at and the anime review doesn't have it listed under sexuality (of course, being a dub the other things of it were taken out). So my my guess is that it was in Second Gig?

I haven't ever seen the films, but I've been following the Stand Alone Complex episodes that are aired on Adult Swim. Overall, I found the first series enjoyable in process but ultimately very unfulfilling.

Also the original manga.

It was in one of the 2nd Gig episodes; I am uncertain as to which one. It likely wouldn't be listed anyway, as it isn't the focus of the episode, just something that can be assumed from a variety of things in the background (which is mostly how sexuality is handled in Ghost in the Shell, not that this legitimizes it).

For the moment I'll leave the moral issues aside, for the sake of simplicity. I'll answer questions if anyone is curious as to my stance.

Wait I'm confused. There's OAVs for the Laughing Man and Individual 11? Are these released in the States? I have the entire SAC first series (with the sexy metal box I might add :-p) and I have up to disc 3 of 2nd gid (all that's been released thus far. What are these OAVs you speak of? I still need to buy the original movie and Innocence, though I've seen them already.

The Laughing Man and The Individual Eleven are the respective storylines condensed to show only the major plot points, similar to the compillation movies that Mobile Suit Gundam was turned into. I wouldnt expect them to be released in the US but the Official Log Books will be coming out (1st one already is)
