FMA was only bumped up one hour. Apparently it is the thrd top rated show on AS now instead of top-rated.

No actually i'm talking about their weekday lineup. It's doing weird things now. FMA is only on Saturdays with the new episodes(i'm still trying to catch up due to college. bah)

No, I merely commented on a subject that had already been raised. As indicated by the end of my previous post, however, I realized that the entire discussion was beside the original point of the thread, and thus should probably be dropped. :)

The Boondocks tangent has run its course. There should not be a need for it to be mentioned again.

So far I have no real opinion about it, but I'm not as fond of the song. However, I have seen fairly little of this show. Hopefully it will have a tighter plot arc than the original series, with the same effective presentation.

uc's right. As I stated before, CN does what gets them the most ratings. Keeping shows on that give them bad ratings would force them out of business. Then they wouldn't be on TV at all.

So I'd say doing something that gives them more money hardly makes them idiots. ;)

I suppose that makes the viewers idiots then, right? The people who boost the profits of sucky entertainment. *shakes head*

i'm just feeling vehement about the loss of good programming. Granted, I shouldn't even care. We get all of 3 (local) tv channels at college, LoL. sad, i know.

I'd like to respond, but in keeping with uc's wishes, I'll stay silent.

I suppose that makes the viewers idiots then, right? The people who boost the profits of sucky entertainment. *shakes head*

*tries to think of how to explain it*

Okay, let's say you're having a bake sale. Let's say that you have 100 Rice Krispies Squares, 100 chocolate chip cookes, and 100 oatmeal raisin cookies. Let's say when the bake sale is over, you have 10 Rice Krispies Squares left, 40 chocolate chip cookies, and 80 oatmeal raisin cookies.

When the next bake sale rolls around, will you be more likely to make more Rice Krispies Squares or oatmeal raisin cookies? Is it profitable for you to make a lot of something that doesn't sell well?

Do you see my analogy?

While there are viewers that like shows that CN has cancelled, ultimately it was the shows that had the least viewers...the oatmeal raisin cookies of CN. They only have limited space for their bake sale goods, so they have to make room for more Rice Krispies Squares, since those sell WAY better.

Do you understand what I'm trying to say, or did I hit way off mark? ^^;;

LOL....well that's officially the first ecomics analogy to make me very hungry.

But yea, I get your point. I actually understood it previously(though i must say i'm glad for the analogy regardless! XD)

I realize that CN has to promote what people watch and what people gravitate towards. Hence why i called the viewers 'idiots' - yes i know..overly harsh, but still - because CN has to cater to what i would consider poor taste. But that is subjective i suppose. I just wish that more people had similar anime tastes to my own so that I didn't have to deal with (imo) poor choices.

I just wish it didn't have to be an issue of catering to the masses. After all, that's what the Emperors of Rome did back in the day, and we all know that all that bloody gladiating wasn't exactly good clean fun. :P

And while we're at it, Why does CN keep reviving FLCL? They've played that to death. Why not bring back something we haven't seen in a while, like Wolf's Rain, Blue Gender, or Kikaider (am I the only one who liked this one)? Or they could start up the replay of Paranoia Agent. They haven't done that either.

Agreed. I think sooner or later AS will only be American-Made comedies since those make the most money as we`ve seen.

I would not like that outcome but I suspect it has a good chance of coming to pass. Most of the people who I talk to who watch AS prefer the American cartoons. I quit watching American made adult-oriented cartoons altogether some years back; they tended to be an appeal to the lowest common denominator, and I prefer not to watch any media like that. I wonder though, do the animes make up the difference in viewership through merchandizing?

That is a possibility. In some ways it would make things easier for me, in that I could simply ignore Adult Swim instead of having to consider its schedule.

However, I somewhat doubt anime will be completely removed from the channel unless anime fans all switch to some other method of viewing the various series. While they receive more money from American comedies, it isn't necessarily beneficial for them to remove anime across the board. Perhaps they have statistics that indicate that anime fans are willing to stay up rather late, whereas they need earlier times to catch more fickle viewers.

Just like kaemmerite said. You can either settle down and shut up, or I'll be happy to show you the door forcibly. And in case there's any ambiguity about that, it means banned. That's three mods telling you, now.

I don't really mind the schedule change. It just means I have to record Samurai Champloo and Inuyasha and watch them on a different day because of work and college. I'm just glad I still get to watch FMA on Saturdays. ^^

I would perfer an all anime Saturday night as there was no need to change it the way they did.As far as it goes until it is returned to an all anime Saturday night line up on AS I will continue to do what I did last week and change the channel to Toon Disney and watch The Tick and X Men.At least The Tick and X Men are true quality shows.
Also at least the comedies that AU has aired in the past month are funny.Cromartie High maybe weird but it is also funnier than most of the 'comedies' on AS.
The Tick is even funnier than the majority of the 'comedies' on AS.
As far as it goes I am rather pessimissitic that AS will continue to show Inuyasha after it runs it's course. And I fear that instead of Escaflowne or another high quality
anime series they will end up replacing it with another junky' comedy'.Then again what can you expect when one of the new executives used to work at Carsey-Warner?
When this happens I will be happy that I have started collecting anime DVDs.

What's it being beaten by?

still, it could only mean that it still has it's popularity, but just more watch the others.. I know there are some shows that I watch as well..thus adding to the number of people that watch the other shows, thus making it's popularity go up too..if it's already popular....than it's ok! ^_^

At least it wasn't doing as bad as Trigun the last time through...
