Well, I tend to throw out songs that sound too much like sterotypical j-pop, so that would leave out NGE, for example. Although I like .hack//sign's opening theme, and that's somewhat typical j-pop.

Visually - Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, although I thought the first time I saw it that the entire series would follow in 3D animation.

Music - Cowboy Bebop, Witch Hunter Robin, and Serial Experiments Lain.

The opening for AIR TV is a favorite of mine.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I like the original opening to Macross. I'm not too crazy about the opening animation to Big O, but I love the theme song.

For me it's:

You know, "Freckles" is one of my favorite songs to play while doing Dance, Dance Revolution! One time, I was playing against this guy, and I picked "Freckles"...after he finished laughing, I lost miserably...:waah!:

Back on the subject! My favorite opening sequence has to be the new FMA title sequence. I think the creators were in the room saying:

Fullmetal Alchemist Writers wrote:"Look, we have extra money in the budget after paying the writers their $250,000 per script salary, why don't we go all out with a new title sequence?"

The computer animation is beautiful--especially the scene when Ed is jumping off the cliff...the colors are beautiful!
