Actually, it is enough for you to note it. The internet is a wonderful tool. Once I have finished the chapter I will most likely comment here, if I have the time.

I have never heard of it.

Now, as for Chapter 54 (major spoilers ahead):
I'm slightly disappointed to see that the villain isn't the Elric's father, but in all honesty we have enough of that in literature in the first place. This does support the theory that their father is an artificial life form rather strongly. Does this villain really have a name? I guess "Father" is most appropriate.

As of right now, I really like him as a villain. He is powerful, but not by raw force; instead, it seems as though his abilities stem from a source much deeper than alchemy. Given the eye on his forehead and some of his statements about alchemy, I wonder if he was somehow responsible for the alchemists themselves. It seems as though he has control over the basic rules of the world.

Of course, that leaves us wondering what his motives are. What is it that he would want? Also in the random speculation category: Ling. Do you think he'll retain his consciousness and return with greater power? Or, for that matter, do you think the current being in control is the original Greed?

As far as we know of, Father is just Father. No other names.

The revelation that Van Hohenheim and Trisha weren't really married was quite interesting. I hadn't thought of that before. I'm starting to become curious about Trisha now. It might just be circumstance, but I wonder why there's never been any mention of her parents.

As to Father, I have a theory myself that Father might be one of the Sages of the East or West that were mentioned some time back that introduced Alchemy to Xing and Amestris and somehow discovered 'all truth' or somehow gained a direct connection to the gate itself. Then, over time, he's been experimenting and improving himself through alchemy and other means (explaining the wires in his back). Or, as odd as it is, mayhaps he could have become one with a Philosopher's Stone?

From what I remember from what the Homonculi have said, it is their goal to use all of Amestris, Xing, Drachma and the other countries and create a giant Phil's Stone, much like what happened to Xerxes. Perhaps that's what Sloth's doing....digging a giant transmutation circle underneath the earth. What he wants the stone for, can't say.

So I've seen in discussions on other forums, Ling is now being controlled by the soul of Greed and Ling's soul has just joined the others in the PS. There reasoning is the way he speaks....it's the exact same 'sloppy language' as the old Greed. Hmm, either way....it could be fortuitous as in neither Ling nor Greed, I believe, would really follow Father. But, as before, we'll just have to wait and see.
This has been mentioned before, but I think the Elric`s father was a clone or a spwn of father. To me, it seems like father has been just basically sitting around in his lair all day and he made a clone to walk around and speak though him. Obviously, this theory isn`t completely correct consideering Father was surprized Van had children so....I think Van might be a different side to him..
Van being the good and father being the evil. We haven`t seen Hohenheim do anything evil right?

As for Ling, is he going to appear in the anime, at all do you think?

And on another note, is the town Ed is currently stationed at the town where the series took off since Rose is there? If so, is Rose an ishbalin? Is this the fight where Scar dies? If so, who kills him? So many questions.

Van Hohenheim is an interesting figure. It's curious...not really sure what to say about him. We've not really seen him in action, just wandering and getting shot. We do know he knows alot of what's going on. I think it'd be curious if Father and Van ended up being brothers and to see their relationship in comparison to Ed and Al. *shrugs*

As to Ling in the anime, no...I know he doesn't appear in the 51 episodes of the movie. The only chance for him is if they make a second series to follow more closely to the manga.

The city Ed ends up with is indeed Lior, but the military, I assume, is just at some sort of nameless outpost. Rose isn't Ishbalan and as to your other questions. Wait and see.

Van Hohenheim strikes me as overall good, based on what we've seen of him so far and also the general style in which he has been presented. The largest question, of course, is the nature of his being. I really doubt he is Father's brother; Father's language strikes me as very objectifying.

They bring Lior back numerous times. If I'm not mistaken, it has never appeared in the manga again. It is interesting to compare the storytelling techniques.
Nor will it be, unless someone other than R. Zion and I participate in this thread. But I actually don't know in the first place, not that it is terribly important to me.

In the manga, Scar is still alive and killing people, unless I missed a chapter somewhere.

Well, if you really want to know about Scar....
I don't know the exact details, but in the next episode, I know Ed and Scar confront each other and then Gluttony and Lust confront them. I know I've seen a scene where Scar takes military gunfire for Lust and I've also heard something about Kimbley and Scar fighting which may lead to his death. Not entirely sure, but it is in the next few episodes of the show. (BTW, there are only 51 episodes. I assume your 'Episode 54' was a typo)
Depends on if you mean the anime or the manga

And that was a typo on my own part. ^_^;;; I meant Gluttony, not Greed.

Ok, that past episode was odd. I`m assuming Kimbley is evil.
Is that freaky guy with Kimbley tucker?
Why did Al just let Bardly kill that chimera? -Forgot her name. The snake one.-
He just let the sword enter his suit of armour...

Does anyone know if Ling will be in the anime at all? I do have a giude for every epiosde but...

Also I want to see Ed use that cool sword he uses in the game.

Hasn't this question been asked already? However, if I recall the answer is no.

Oh, If i asked already I aplogize. I huess I`ll just wait patiently for Chapter 55. Do you think that this is the last place in the storyline since the Elrics are in the same room as the Father? After they defeat greed, I mean. Then again, probably not since the other hormunculi are still out there.
BTW, I think I have a theory of hormunculi`s name.

Going by anime:
Lust (Reasons obvious)
Envy (He envies other people so he takes their form)
Gluttony (Ditto)
Pride (because he has pride in himself since he`s the President)
Wrath (He gets weeeewwy angwy)
Greed (he`s gweedy)
Sloth (She never fights and is a freakin secretary)

By no means are we at the end of the manga. Like you mentioned, there are the other Homunculi....Sloth has even REALLY been introduced save for seeing his back, and Pride is still hidden. Arakawa has said Drachma, the country to the north, is still to appear (and soon), plus she wants to explore the Ishbal War she's said. Thus we still have a ways to go on that.

As for the Homunculi and there names:

Lust (agreed)
Envy (While he himself never really shows envy towards anyone, a common source of envy in people is someone's appearance, so it fits that way.)
Gluttony (agreed)
Pride (I think the name Wrath would fit the anime Bradley better than the manga thus far, but yeah....for the Pride of the military, his own pride in his power and prowess, ect)
Wrath (Agreed. The boy has issues in the beginning, a lot of pent up anger)
Greed (Agreed)
Sloth (This one is the most.....ambiguous, I guess. She's not particularly Slothful...she speaks in a cool tone, yes, but that shouldn't define name. As slow as a babbling brook perhaps?? I don't know, but really it's probably just they needed a Sloth and 'Miss Douglas' was available. Also, I'd avoid ever calling a secretary slothful or lazy. There's more work to it than you think.)

I was jut messin' around. i guess your right, but i would rather have a volume of FMA every other month than have to wait every month for a tiny piece of the story.

O.O How'd you guess!!!

:p

I believe Arakawa has said that the chapter lengths could be going from longer to shorter depending on the month. I guess it just depends on how much space she gets or how much story she feels like telling that month. *shrugs*

I find Fullmetal Alchemist's system of updating once a month interesting. If her chapters were equivalent to roughly four average chapters of a weekly manga, I would understand, but I was under the impression the Japanese manga industry was rougher than that. Perhaps her fame gives her some priviledges.

Hey, the website where I usually read the manga has a detailed description of every episode in the anime 1-51 and is filledwith spoilers. For those of you who want a link then PM me unless we are allowed to show links to licenced anime as oposed to manga.

If my knowledge serves me correctly, FMA will be shown on New Year`s Eve but what about Christmas Eve? I know Toonami`s out but what about AS?

Links to downloads are always forbidden, regardless of the status of the series. Links to information, however, are completely legitimate, even if that information has not appeared in the United States yet.
