One of the things that I love about Dr.Who is the fact that they never tried to hide the fact that the special effects were so cheesily cheap.

It's probably the reason why DW was one of the few imported Sci Fi series to be able to get pass the stranglehold Star Trek had on the American Sci Fi tv market.

well it was the longest running scifi series. Star trek doesn't count because it's spin offs. DW definetly had some cheesey effects and fight scenes. heh. But it was still an awsome seris. I really liked it alot.

I'll have to see about seeing the new season. I wish they would replay it on tv.

It probably be in either the Tv or Foreign Film section of Barnes & Nobles if they
ever have it.

Interesting but if you saw the tv movie Tony Dow worked on it as I believe
some sort of director of something or other.Tony Dow being famous for
being Wally on Leave It To Beaver.

They used to show BBC Sci Fi series like Dr.Who,Blakes7 and
the original Hitchikers Guide To The Galaxy on our local PBS station
in Spokane. But that was several years back and it was always on
Saturday night around 10 or 10:30.Now they show stuff like The
Red Green Show. :eh:

Yeah,my sister up in Alaska likes the Red Green Show but it's one of those
things.
Anyhoo here are two gals that it would be fun to see as the Doctor's
companion of course with the one he would have to have plenty of
pudding in the TARDIS! :

Oh yeah. They do some incredible visual effects work on anime series and can't
you just see what they could do with the interior of the TARDIS?

Well if they did do an anime or animated version of DW the first person they
should round up to do the voices is Elisabeth Sladen!

My friend Diane e-mailed me some information from Sci Fi Wire about
the new DW.Rumor has it that the gal playing the Doctor's companion quit and
so won't be avaible for season 3.
btw:Isn't the new Doctor #10?
If the telemovie counts then that one was #8 and the last one #9 so this one
is #10 which means according to the rules of the Time Lords that he has only
two more regenerations to go.

oooooh, thanks for the link, creed4!! Billie Piper must be coming back... she is in all the trailers and such with the new Doctor.

My friend in Belgium sent me the set he recorded off his tv, so I've been lucky enough to see the most recent season. It was SO good to see the Tardis again! And they kept true to the opening music, which I was very happy about... looked and sounded a lot like the Tom Baker years!! (And as much as I loved Sarah Jane, ML, you sure you want her to come back? How old would she be at this point?!? Those were recorded a good 25 years or so ago now. :))

I actually got to meet Tegan at a Dr. Who convention back in 1987 I think. (Does going to a Dr. Who convention scream "GEEEEEK!" or what?? haha!) They had a great exhibit of real Daleks, a Davros suit, a Cyperman, one of Tom Baker's scarves, a Tardis, and a whole bunch of fantastic Whovian wonders I can't remember right now since it was a bazillion years ago.

But I understood that there was to be a special Dr. Who at Christmas time, so my friend is going to burn it to disc for me when it aires. Can't wait!!
(And the tardis IS still stuck in police box mode! And I'm oh so glad it is. ;))
