Who ever wants to talk about Naruto or anything else or maybe just to socialize or anything come do it here. I'm new at this so you gotta help me out here. I've only seen number 6 & 7 episodes of Naruto and i've also seen Rurouni Kenshin also. I'd also like to receive any info on persuading my MOM that not all anime is bad and christians like it too.

Here's one for ya...

Ever been to a movie? Just because R-Rated movies exist does not make all movies bad, right? Same with anime.

How about you watch something like The Cat Returns? It's devoid of anything "bad".

Also, Japan is a different culture, and things that are acceptable may not be here in America. The existence of South Park does not make Spongebob Squarepants evil, and in Japan a show may contain some blood or violence and still be aimed towards a younger group (like Naruto), because those things aren't considered taboo in that culture.

My mom is like that too. She really hates anime.

You just have to make compromises and listen to each other. And following your gut on different shows can never hurt.

That's okay. I understand. Moms and teenage girls go through a lot of strife. It's just one of those laws of nature.

One thing I've learned (after several "You are BANNED from anime!"s) is that arguing is pointless. You kind of have to prove you're capable of making wise, Christ centered decisions in what you watch. In the end, that's all most parents really want. (well, that and maybe a nice condo in Venice when they retire^^)

But, for me it's a toss up between Sasuke and Kakashi.

Bishieness+Ninjaness=hotness
 sorry, sorry, going into fangirl mode again.

Does anyone else like how the characters have super speed. It's like when they run...it's just this flash. Very cool.

Not to mention the characters personalities are great.

yeah That is pretty cool and to tell you the truth I havent really seen any major battle scenes and i'm sure there pretty animated. heh have you seen episode #6 ?? especially after Kakashi pulls Sasuke into the ground with head hunter jutsu which leaves sasuke just staying there with only his head sticking out of the ground. then comes worried-about-Sasuke=Sakura who sees him, stops instantly, just about faints, freaks out, then falls out.LOL!!

Yes, That was funny! Oi. Sakura is a bit of a bubblehead. Much like Usagi. There's always one in every series...

In about 40-50 episodes, yes. Until then, she's pretty much a cheerleader. A cheerleaser that yells "Sasuke!" over and over...and over.
By the way, my favorite character is Kakashi, just because he's so cool.

That's not really true. It's not initially coming out unedited. The first DVD will be the TV version, and later there will be an uncut box coming out with the Japanese dialogue.

Oh a whole box set? Well I guess it's better if they decide to do a boxset than 3 to a disk, which is what they usually do :/

The edited DVDs will have 4 episodes.

Honestly, I don't see what the big deal is. The story is unchanged, and the only real difference is the swearing and some of the blood has been removed. Doesn't everyone normally complain when anime has bad language and is bloody? I honestly don't see what's so bad about the voice acting. It's not great, but I'm sure it will improve, and most of the voices fit fine. They actually pronounce things right, too. Stop complaining.

You have to understand that what's acceptable in Japan and America are very different. Naruto is aimed at the same age group in Japan as America, but the standards on what can be shown are much more strict here. Besides, why do you like seeing blood? o.O

Actually, most of their recent releases have been at least 4 episodes per disk:

Zatch Bell!
Flame of Recca
Megaman, NT Warrior.
Boys over Flowers
Heck, Pokemon doesn't even get 3-episode releases...or at least the more recent seasons...which get like collector's releases.
And Hikaru no Go is set for 4-episode releases as well.

So don't judge everything by Inuyasha.

I've also heard that the uncut Naruto boxset might be pretty inexpensive...but don't take my word for it. I guess we'll see.

I don't know really it just gives it more realistic animation. I mean if you get cut with a shurikan or something your not just going to stand there and go " oohps i just got cut and i'm not bleeding hahaha" I mean the more realistic looking the battle is the better.

The only real thign that bugs me is when it's dub-only DVDs and they never ever try and license and bring over the sub version. There's still quite a few of those around and even if they are kiddieish shows, there's still some of us out there that would like it in the other language and uncut too :/ The levels of violence on anime like Digimon and stuff that they take out REALLY isn't bad for the majority of slightly older viewers to see uncut.... that's all I have to say.
