Outlaw Star

Okay, so I've noticed something. When you do a search engine for anything outlaw star, you don't get much. So I was wondering, how many fans are there out there of that show?

Please state so here. I'm just curious.

I liked it, but CN let their rights expire, so they're not gonna be showing it unless they buy them back (which is doubtful).

Ah, the heart-warming story of a boy and his starship's computer guidance system who repeatedly questions why she was made.

Lol! Yeah, he should have said that! I haven't seen it in a while, be she was all depressed about her existance. It was rather obvious why she was made, but maybe she was wanting to be more than that? *shrugs* who knows.

Outlaw Star is a very good series. I wish CN showed it more often :(

I remember that series had the DVDs... It started so well, and then at the finale just fell apart. I imagine the censors at CN must have had ulcers taming that show down to be acceptable

Outlaw stars quite possibly one of my favorite anime's in existance. (One of 'em, along with FMA and a few others.) Its a shame, though. I never did get to finish it.

CN did dub it a lot, which I don't really mind. I'd rather not see all of that fanservice or sexuality that the original has (I've read about it). A lot of people complain, but I see no reason to have such immoral, sinful things in anime just to make it, quote, "good", end quote.

I did enjoy it, though I missed a few episodes. Mainly the ones that were aired on a Wednesday night. Because of the time that CN put it on, it conflicted with our Bible Study most of the time. So we had to leave in the middle of it. Back then, I wasn't smart enough to think of taping it either -.-;

Oh well.

I liked the idea of it, but they got off the main plot so often that it got annoying. Then there was the incredible amount of sexuality in the unedited version. One of the shows with the most potential that really dropped the ball (Tenchi Muyo GXP was similar, except it had less potential, and more useless sexuality). If only they could drop out the sex and add more plot.

Outlaw Star, if I remember, is something that people thought was nice and cool - but didn't really go to the effort of making fansites for. A passing interest grew up around it and it was certainly a solid anime, but it doesn't seem to have made a lasting impression.

I love OLS. I first saw it when it aired on Toonami. I later bought one of the DVD's, and now I don't have it anymore. Since the boxset is pretty cheap, I will probably buy it sometime in the future.

Probably not many fans due to its short run on Toonmai compared to other shows....

Well, it was back in the early days... back when they mashed the Tenchi Muyo OVA and Tenchi Universe together in a way that would have made Carl Macek blush. I remember I had a cousin who was a young teen saying he was watching Outlaw Star on TV, and my reaction was "How?"

CDLViking was right about all the crass material on that show uncut

Yup, they sure did their share of edits. I think they were pretty creative with Melfina's clothing, actually.
