Yes, I love Trigun. But the reason I love it so much isn't just for *drools* Legato or Wolfwood. I love it because of it's message: thou shalt not kill. Now, I may not be Christian, but I do believe that life is, for the most part, precious. I, like Vash, am somewhat of a pacifist, and think that killing doesn't pay. Two wrongs don't make a right. Now, I don't want to get into a huge polical debate, but, for the most part, I am against the death penalty for this reason. Heck, I don't even like killing insects (except mosquitos, because there are so many of them)! So, I think that for anyone who thinks anime is just a lot of pointless bloodshed, they should watch Trigun. Thoughts, anyone?

Teh flamage!!! No worries, I've had enough of those in my day. XD I LOVE Trigun too, though! I always appreciate the protagonists that aren't violent, or don't go on killing sprees and rampages (although I will admit, I do love the occasional anti-hero ;D). As much as I don't like killing, I believe there is a time for war and a time for peace, as well. I mean, think of WWII. The Nazis were slaughtering Jews, and the rest of the world had to do something about it. So yeah, I love Vashi-kun and his vow not to kill (that goes for Kenshin too, haha), but I understand when wars are neccessary and when they are just causing bloodshed. As far as killing bugs goes...o.o If it's in my house and is a cockroach, spider, or anything with a stinger or ability to ifest...It's dead! XD I won't kill butterflies, ladybugs, moths, etc. though, since they're so pretty! And I won't kill 'em if they're outside, just in my house. Eeeeewwww, cockroaches....>.< XD

It took watching Trigun and especially Gundam Seed for me to arrive at much the same position that you have already reached Android raptor and I've lived several decades longer.
What is encouraging is that Vash seems always to be able to at least try to find
an alternative to violence and only fights as a last resort or else when there is no
other recourse.

I love Trigun and I think it is one of the best series out there. There are alot of good messages in it if you really break it down and Vash is such and awesome character himself, not to mention each character can stand alone in their own awesomness and there is somethign that each of them teach...

Yes, I've noticed that as well.

It's interests me in the show One Piece, as it's similar yet not directly. I mean, almost no one ever dies (except in flashbacks), and someone pointed out to me one reason why. Everyone, even the villains, has some sort of dream. They may never fullfil it, but it's as though they're still given the chance to do so.
There is one exception, however:
