I got it...It's pretty stinkin neato. It's different from all their other stuff but it's still uniquely P86. "Cavity King" is a rock your face off song.

Cavity King is great. I also love Necktie Remedy, From December, Wordsmith Legacy (Spoken and spoken and spoken and spoken and spoken!), and The Hand, The Furnace, The Straight Face. This CD is greaaaat. My friend made a good point today when we were talking about the inevitable comparisons to Drawing Black Lines that will be made, and he said that this album is no Drawing Black Lines.....and yet it doesn't have to be. This is And the Rest Will Follow....and it's darn good in its own right.

I got it at Best Buy on sale for $10 dollars. And you're right Kkun, this is a great CD in it's own right. I think all their CD's are great except Truthless Heros. Which is still good but not as good as any of their other CD's...

Truthless Heroes is an interesting case. It's probably my next to last favorite Project album (last being their first album) but because it's kind of um...depressing? Sad? I don't listen to it that much. However, it has some of my favorite Project 86 songs, I think. Little Green Men, Soma, Last Meal, and Hollow Again all readily come to mind. TH was just different, personally. Not really worse...just different.

That's true Kkun...But it was a huge dissapointment to me when I first got it...I was looking forward to another "Drawing Black Lines." I like TH now but it wasn't what I was expecting when I got it.

Ok. I just finished listening to this. I gotta say, this is the strangest P86 CD to date. Yes, even odder then Truthless Heroes. The use of a piano shocked me to be honost. I never expected it from P86. The songs are such a weird hodge podge mix of sound...I like it. I think its a brave new change for the band...much in the vein of Truthless Heroes. Now, that being said. One question always comes up when a new P86 CD comes out. Is it better then Drawing Black Lines? Heck no. Shut up, move on, and live past it. It was an amazing CD...but the band changes like people do. Its a new album, its a new sound, but the same old Shwab. Or however he spells his name. All in all I give this CD 4/5 A good new album.

That's cool. Actually I had about the same ideas on it...I don't think that it's stranger than Truthless Heros though...

I didn't get the depressing vibe either...I was just really dissapointed when I first got it because it was so much softer than what I was expecting.

I saw the aforementioned Project show in Lancaster, PA Thursday night and was quite surprised to see Meboeck there (I hadn't read his post on page 5). It was an awesome show. My vocal chords were totally jacked on Friday and on Saturday I sounded like a 14-year-old boy (my hearing took equally as long to fully recover). And it was all the more awesome for being able to rock out with Nathan as well as the friends that I came with.

Hey, have you guys looked at the lyrics for "All of Me"? It almost seems like Schwab is apologizing for his recent depressing turn in song writing. I mean, yeah, P86 has always had a darker tone, but recent albums(TH and Songs To Burn Your Bridges By) have been much darker than usual. It also seems like a cry of repentence. But hey, that's just my thoughts. Yours?

I think each album has told a story. Like life, not every story is a happy one. TH told one of the more honost open storys of all there albums. But, unlike many P86 fans I talk to...I just don't see the "depressing turn in song writing" I fail to see it at all.

WOW.
WOW.
WOW.

Wow.

That was one of the best shows I've been to in a long time. Project and Spoken tore the house down. I'll talk more about it later.

I don't think they were depressing, so much as sad, which is very different. Andrew was very honest in Drawing Black Lines, Truthless Heroes and Songs To Burn Your Bridges By, pointing out and attacking the damaging effects of pornography, herd mentality, selling out your values, becoming a mindless drone of the corporate world, betrayal, deceit, child molestation and other nasty things but as Andrew has said before, he doesn't want to be known as a positive band but an honest band and on some level, I really appreciate that. While I may not agree with him all the time, he has guts to say what he says.

Yeah I've never really found their lyrics that depressing...I think that they are pretty dark and brutally honest but I haven't noticed a more depressing turn in their lyrics. I have noticed that a few of their songs are darker like "Suix Lane Spirits" and "Cavity King." But if you look at their older stuff it isn't really much darker than say..."Chimes" or "Stalemate."
