CookinLikeSanji, so you know, links to fansubs aren't allowed here, for obvious reasons.

Anyway, it's not hard to be better then 4Kids.

I would check fansubs but my connection and compy are *Gomu Gomu no Buh...*.

I'll probably just have to get the original DVDs sometime (since the so called "uncut" version doesn't seem to be going as planned...).

Oh, quick question for those that get original DVDs: Region Free. That means it works on anything, correct?

EDIT: By the way, for those who watch the subbed, what is Chopper's voice suppose to sound like? On 4Kids they did a preview of the next "season" and had Chopper on there. He's suppose to be 15 and sounded like he was 8. Not really how I pictured it, but I need to know how it's suppose to really sound.

My main problem with the 4Kids version is that Luffy sounds like such a
duffus!
They should have gotten someone like Veronica Taylor to do his voice.

Being that Luffy pretty much is a dufus, I kinda got used to it (but burn Usopp's voice!!!).

I still gotta know how Chopper was originally suppose to sound...

Oh, and something that seemed to strike me as oddly funny is the fact that none of the main characters ever die. Ever. Not even once.
(At least it's better than killing them off and having them come back twelve times, a la DBZ...)

Well the only main character that's half way expendable is Ussop and he's
pretty much the comic relief! :bang:
You can't kill Luffy because he's the main character,Nami's the straight
girl AND the navigator and so if you got rid of her they'd wind up going
in circles for the next several seasons,no way do you kill off Sanji unless
you want the entire crew to die from food poisoning, and Zolo is practically
the leading man.So that means Ussop is the only one who could be
killed off!

Ussop actually gets pretty good later on, and he's their sharpshooter.
You didn't mention Chopper (doctor), Robin (archaeologist who makes hands pop up anywhere), and Franky (the cyborg carpenter).

That's okay.

I already put the link into favorites any. :3

Does anyone know why Sanji's voice is the way it is anyway?

4kids' voice director screwed up...
Or something like that anyway.

They all need to be fired, or at least fix their mistakes.

Myoti Toonami has only gotten as far as the Arlong saga,in fact they just showed
the ending of it and start the one where Luffy has the price put on his head.

The 4Kids one is already in Drum (though they're not suppose to be...) and I'm reading it now to get the storyline.

Oh, wow. Zoro has... absolutely no sense of direction. Nami and Chopper were leading him somewhere and he still managed to get lost. O_o

Ok, you ressurected this one too. Anyways, I`m at the Arlong arc in the maga, the manga is 5,000,000x better than the crapfest known as One Piece. The only problum I would have with starting the series over again uncut would be starting it over again. The dub has been on for about a year now it took them that like to get to Drum island with two episodes per week. It would take FOREVER to get where they are now.

It's worth it to watch again, the japanese VAs aren't as annoying and the fights, (uncut) make more sense, and have a larger emotional kick in motion. The Arlong arc is especially good in the japanese anime, because Arlong's laugh is so frustrating to hear.

Plus the fact that.. people don't 'go to the hospital' or get 'sent to the dungeon.' And the weapons aren't green. <_<;;;;;

I enjoy the manga more still, and if you're enjoying the Viz translation, I'd stick with it.

I decided to revive this thread, but the discussion will be only about the sub (since we're not allowed to abuse the other version anymore).

Anyways, the sixth opening recently came out in the series and I gotta say, it's pretty darn good.

Opening 6

There's quite a few spoilers in this one (which is odd, since most of them were just recently reached in the manga...), but I love the song (the "Start me up" part reminds me of a VBS song for some reason, only cooler :p ).

Ending 18, from what I've heard, will have different fanart pics everytime, which is cool (and CHOPPERMAN! XD ).

About the more recent episodes:
The art and animation seems to be getting better as this series progresses, really.
The voice for Kumadori was what I expected, though I though it would have been deeper. The one for Fukurou was a big "W T Fudge?" moment, but I see now how it fits.
(I'm hoping the links are alright. It's to the opening and endings only, not the episodes. If not, I'll remove them.)
