Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. aww digimon... pleasant memories =3 I was so obsessed with these shows... I think 1 and 2 were my favorites ^__^ I reaaaally want to see the show in Japanese though. Just for old time's sake and to see how different it is.

Did anyone else read tons of digimon fanfiction? That was WAAAY back when fanfiction.net actually had lots of well planned out stories. Believe it or not digimon fanfiction was very good most of the time. I read them like alll summer XD I also started a digimon guild on neopets (which I was also obsessed with), rped Digimon, and found so much info on Frontiers. I never got to watch it though, because when it aired the station changed and I could never find it *sigh* So then I grew out of it b/c I couldn't watch it anymore.

the_lizardqueen wrote:I've never been sure how I feel about the whole turning into a digimon vs. having a digimon partner concept. I kinda felt like Frontier was missing something due to the lack of digimon partners, although Bokomon and Neemon did try to fill the gap. The turning into a digimon concept was cool and all, but it didn't entirely click with me. I guess I just liked the idea of having a cool pet creature for a friend.
I'm definitely not meaning to offend anyone though, or put the Frontier fans down, I can understand why you'd like the series. I have to admit, it was sometimes pretty ridiculous during the first two seasons when the digimon were having to do all the fighting. I was sometimes wondering why the digidestined were there, since they didn't seem to do much other than riding their digimon and yelling a bunch

Tamers kinda made a bit more sense with the card slashing, but Frontier really did solve that problem by giving the kids a more active role in battle

The thing I didn't like about Frontier was how the basic structure of the show was such a blatant rip-off of various Power Rangers type shows. However, as I think I said before, I'm comming to appreciate it a lot more for the story itself. I especially like how a bunch of the later villians were supposed to be "good guys." That was a very interesting plot twist. In fact, just about all the bad guys in Frontier were pretty cool.

...but Tamers was better. I think the more complex relationship between human and Digimon was one of the key ellements in making it so realistic.

Heck yeah! In fact, I've writen my fare share of 'em! Some of them are actually on fanfiction.net, but I kinda forgot about the place for a while, so they're severely un-updated :red:

lol, I used to wish I had the Hope crest, cause orange is my favorite color and it let Angemon digivolve to Magnaangemon.

And actully, the similarity between Frontier and Power Rangers is probably the reason I liked that season's concept. I LOVE sentai type shows like Power Rangers and Sailor Moon, the whole color coded super hero concept really appeals to me ^^. The original 7 digidestined always reminded me of the power rangers, how each of them was like a different personality type.

Has anyone else ever thought that at least the first two seasons were kind of similar to DBZ? they were broken up into different "sagas" where each new villain was more powerful than the last, and the heroes had to upgrade their power every saga in order to beat the enemy. 02 had fusions too.

That's a good point. It did follow a somewhat riggid pattern, didn't it? Tht's another thing to like about Tamers

Oh, and as long as people are talking about crests... mine was the Crest of Imagination, which was ironic since a number of other people claimed that as their crest too (not very imaginative, eh?)

Something I thought was cool was how the main three Tamer Digimon were each type. Renamon and Terriermon were Vaccine and Data (I believe) and Guilmon, surprisingly, turned out to be a Virus-type (which I think was the first time they did it that way), but it sure showed through the first time he tried to go "Mega" (anyone else remember that episode?).
Oh, yeah. I also liked how the Digimon kept the same voices in Tamers when they Digivolved. I don't know if it was a mistake or on purpose, but it sounded kinda funny to hear Galantmon and MegaGargomon shouting out in these cute, high-pitched voices.

I also think it's neat that you created an entire series Myoti, now that takes some serious creativity ^_^

Thanks, though I'm still working out all the little "kinks". If anyone would like to help or whatever, that'd be cool.

I've never been sure how I feel about the whole turning into a digimon vs. having a digimon partner concept. I kinda felt like Frontier was missing something due to the lack of digimon partners, although Bokomon and Neemon did try to fill the gap.

Yeah, I thought that too. I liked the way Tamers did it though, where they could "Biomerge", though the nudity deal was a bit shocking. Seriously, after Takato did it, I started thinking "Okay, what's gonna happen when Rika does it?". O_O

Man, I LOVED the crests. I, uh, use to pretend I had one myself. *runs away to hide*

Yeah, the crests were kewl. What's your beef with the crests, SC?

I just thought those were like the usually anime "arcs".

You too? I liked that superhero theme too Rocketshipper. Which is why I like Digimon Frontier, Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew and other animes/mangas/video games like them. In fact....I even own some Super Sentai DVDs. (the shows that inspired Power Rangers) :red: Please don't make fun of me..... (super sentai is better than Power Rangers though)

I dunno why, but the whole biomerging thing tends to slip my mind. Maybe it's because Frontier took the idea to another level, I'm not sure...Though I do think that the actual Sakuyamon biomerge sequence (with the moonlight and trees, far as I can remember) is such a beautiful piece of animation, way better than the CG stuff for the others.

Hey it could be worse, I used to imagine Lyzomon was my digimon. And when Tamers came out, I initially created a female blue version of Guilmon for myself

I do think if I had a crest, it would prolly be...Joe's, or mebbe Ken's. Though I do think I'm alot like Joe at times, so probably it'd be Reliability/Faith.

And now, quite randomly, it's a gif version of Lyzomon! I created it for my DA account, I think I might actually keep this avvie for a while..

I remember loving gatomon... I loved the first season when kairi got her X3

aww just watched the first ep in Japanese XD I'm getting a real kick out of the voices and the attack names shouted in engrish. I figure its okay since they'll never release the uncut Jap version in America... But I'm curious as to what was cut out. More language in it.. they say things like kuso and stuff (which could be translated to something like darn or d*** or sh** I think)

I think the main stuff they cut is the language, (Daisuke is a POTTYMOUTH! ) and I think they MAY have cut an episode in Digimon Adventure 02 where there are Digimon who want Hikari to, ahem, help them procreate.

Oh it was in there, but the dialogue was just majorly changed (which is why it makes more sense in the orginal than the dub). The one with Dagomon/Dragomon and Hikari gets spirtied away pretty much to that dark world.

*thinks of all the times watching the second season of Digimon* Daisuke *or is it Davis...I'll go with the Japanese cause it rocks* Is a potty mouth....o.0

Favorite season: Goodness I don't know, I loved them all!

Favorite Digimon: BlackwarGreymon ROCKED! XD But again, I can't say my absolute favorite, I loved them all. Wormmon is defiantly up there; He cared so much for Ken and stayed with him even when Ken went evil. *huggles brothers Wrommon plushy*

Favorite Digidestined/Tamer: Hmmmm...Again I can't decide. I love Ken *not in that way* He's just so sweet *when he's not evil* I also love Kouichi and Kouji. *what can I say I like blue haired guys-.-* But Daisuke was also too kool. Mimi was annoying at times, but she was cool too. GAH CAN'T PICK MY FAVORITE! >.<

I wish I had cable, they don't show Digimon on regular T.V. anymore. -.-

On editing: The one episode of Frontier that I saw in english (episode 14) had The cross hairs edited out when Borgmon used his cannon attack on Grumblemon (or whatever his name was ^^) I think episode 15 also had some fanservice cut out. I think season 1 had a bath scene cut from one episode. I have a clip of it on my computer somewhere.

She wasn't as bad as J.P.

*smites Oathkeeper with an ultima spell* J/K. I read that the dub made him less likeable than he was originally. He did seem a little more whiny in the english version of episode 14.

*Tommy and J.P get hit by Waimon's attack*
Takuya: Tommy are you alright?
Koji: Tommy?
J.P: Hey, how come nobody yelled out my name?

^^ Poor Junpei-san. *pats him on the back*

What's everyone's favorite song from the Digimon series?: My favorites are Spark (Junpei's image song), With the Will (Frontier battle theme) The Biggest Dreamer (Tamers opening) and An Endless Tale (Frontier second ending)

Digimon owns all. I just hope we see a boxed set or something before too long.
