Wolf's Rain ending (spoilers)

Some people consider the ending sad, but I didn't at all. I thought it was cool the way Kiba starts to run and they play "Stray" by Steve Conte. It made me think maybe the opening to Wolf's Rain happens after the ending. It would make since why they are all walking around the city in the opening while they play Stray. They also walk past each other like they don't know each other in the opening.

Not only was it a well done ending, but it also makes sense regarding the show's overall plot. Bear in mind, this is a very apocolyptic type anime (i.e. RahXehpon, Evangelion, etc.) If you recall the world will essentially be remade or "reborn" in a variety of different fashions depending on the heart of the one that opens the gates to Paradise. Obviously since it was Kiba who did this, The world, as we can somewhat see at the end is at peace. You may go as far to say that the reason they didn't recognize one another is that because they are the "new" Kiba, Tsume, Toboe, and Hige. Just some thoughts you might find interesting :-)
