*pokes head through dungeon door*

Hello everyone; I'm sorry to have been away from the boards for so long. You won't believe what I've been through! For some reason, I hadn't even been able to access this site (not even the home page!) since Wednesday afternoon, and I went nuts trying to figure out why--especially since our Internet access has been perfectly fine otherwise and people from here I'd asked about it had all said they were having no problems.

After doing some research and diagnostics (thanks to Mossrose for asking around about it at TheologyWeb--Mom to the rescue! ) I figured out that somewhere along the way between my computer and the CAA server there is some ISP server that is for some reason refusing to forward my router's packet request to the next one along the line. (In other words, I kept getting the dreaded "Server not found" error.) I found this all out Friday night and was most disturbed by it... :waah!:

Then I decided to try something Saturday morning as a last resort. Having unplugged our main online computer from the router and instead plugging it directly into the modem, I tried accessing the CAA again... and although the loading was still very slow, it finally worked! (I wasn't able to stay then, though--my parents needed the computer and I had to work.)

But I'm still trying to figure out why I can now only get on to only the CAA directly through our modem and not the router; it's very baffling indeed. I'd gladly do away with the router, except that it has to be connected to the modem in order for people to access my own site.

:sniffle: Therefore, I'm going to have to make this my last post here for a while--at least until I'm able to come here again through my router like I always was able to do. (Please pray for me as I try to figure it out, or at least that I don't lose my sanity waiting for that mystery ISP server to get its act together.)

If any of you techie know-how guys want to try to help me out, please neither reply to this thread nor PM me; e-mail me instead.

(And by the way, congratulations to our new moderators; I'm sure you'll do a fine job! ^_^ )

Until then--keep speaking psalms, hymns and praise to each other!...

-_- Oh man! That's rotten, MM. Well, I hope you get it all straightened out soon, as I am not tech-minded enough to help...

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

Ack! I've had that happen to many several times just not as long as that, and it's only when I come to this site. Although, only when accessing a PHP page, I think, 'cause I'm pretty sure I haven't had any problems accessing the anime reviews database. Oh well, I hope all goes well soon for you.

That's odd. Hope you find a way around it soon.

*breaks clear through dungeon door*

...And I've fixed the problem! ^_^ Apparently all I had to do was reset the router's configuration to its default factory settings. After doing that, I was able to come here again. Thank you for your prayers and concern, everyone.

Now it's celebration time! *plays fanfare*

(But I have so much to catch up on now... )
