Christmas wishlist: what should I put on it?

Talk about anything in here.

dpi = dots per inch. It's basically how high quality the image can become. (ie, if you were to zoom in on a 100 dpi image, it would be nothing but little squares and blur, but on a 600-1200 one, it would be highly detailed, if the source image itself is detailed). Unless you plan on photo manipulation and have the printer that can actually handle 4800 dpi, I wouldn't worry about it. Although most new scanners can handle that much...can't they....:stressed: I can't remember, haven't looked in a while...

If you plan on doing CG pics, Photoshopping and the like, here's a ref: for all of mine, I seldom go above 100, and if I do, it's usually 150dpi. That's because otherwise the image gets way too huge and takes up way too much drive space (at least on mine, I have no idea how much drive space you have...)

SNIFIT 1: Booster, Sir! There's a 70% chance the object you're standing on is a cake.
BOOSTER: What? THIS thing's a cake?

You have the power to say anything you want, so why not say something positive?

(in response to an interview question "Do you have a pet peeve having to do with this biz?")
People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

PhotoShop is the ONLY way to go, And i don't think it $500 either. Maybe the 100% COMPLETE with ALL plugin's version but the practicle version is only...*gulp* $649.99 !!!@$#*^&%!!!<-anger, NOT curse words)

Hmm... Well, in any case, for 1500 dollars you can get a combo pack:

Photoshop CS
Premiere
After Effects pro
Encore
Audition (I think that's what the last one is called, the sound editing one)

All those programs seperately cost a lot more than taht, I just hope the deal doesn't go away before I can take advantage of it... (with money and a nice new Digital Video specialized computer...)

I guess that's a less important dream, so I can do that sort of stuff after the more important things are done... If I go to Full sail, I'll have all that stuff at my disposal for free anyhow...

To make a long story short is a phrase that's origins are complicated and rambling... In any case, Photoshop is worth the money... As are the rest of the proggies. They are that much because they are the best in their fields...

At least most of you aren't making 3dCG... 3DS max is 3500 dollars... And Maya is 6500! The adobe stuff is cheap compared to those...
