Well, there's the whole 'dethawing' of it, as a memeber of my family likes to say.

To be honest, I wouldn't consider cooking a turkey just because I've seen it done, and it looks like too much work.

There's nothing worse than being ADHD and trying to hurry cooking something that MUST happen in it's own time. This one time, I tried to make bread...

We had duck for Thanksgiving one year. That was excellent.

I've never had duck for anything. Atleast in my short memory.

I prefer a good rib roast with mashed potatoes and asparagus spears. I believe we should save the poor turkeys, they have given their lives far too long. :( Save the Turkey! Save the Turkey! This is really a ploy to make the turkeys feel comfortable, then... mwahahahaha... Yeah, we have turkey every other year. Honey-baked hams during the other year, other than the year that is the other year that we have turkey. :stressed: :dizzy:

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

I eat everything edible: meaning looks and taste and texture. And duck is good too. Just be shure you don't (and never have) own(ed) a duck.

My poniard is itching to carve into nice... tender...succilent...turkey flesh. Did that sound weird or I am mistaken. Or am I insane. What if I am sane but I believe I am insane that is actually sane but wishes he was insane so as to not have to do anything. I am confused... or am I...

i think that is enough of that... oh and a poniard is a very big dagger. Is that oxymoronic... or am I the moron...

Hmmm..... I'm really hunger right now, so most Thanksgiving food is fair game. Now, If I had to choose one, I'd say..... home made macaroni and cheese with turkey, fried chicken, corn, pumpkin pie, corn bread, hard broiled eggs, venison, bake potato, shrimp fried rice, fresh homemade bread, and a salad. Ok, I can't choose one.... duck sounds good too. :)

a nice turkey sandwich... With mayo, and wheat bread... mmm, yum... And a nice glass of milk. Maybe 2 or 3 turkey sandwhiches... If I can get away with it, but usually I don't... ("You don't need to put it in a sandwich!" says either/or)

I never eat more or less because it's a certain day, unless of course I'm having a lot of fun with good friends then I'll eat less... Or. I'm on a fast that I'm sticking with, then I won't eat anything... unfortunately, MOST of my fasts have been for nought as I've failed in them drastically... I have had in my history maybe 5 successful fasts out of about 30-40 attempts...

Thanksgiving isn't my favorite time as far as meals go... There is so much food, and I'm always expected to eat things I don't like... I'm a very picky eater... Sweet Potato is out of my jurisdiction... eeeeew... (?)

And for all of you that ate duck... What's next? Get fluffy on the table? Have E.T. over... For DINNER? Man
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evcNPfZlrZs Watch this movie なう。 It's legal, free... And it's more than its premise. It's not saying Fast Food is good food. Just watch it.

Gotta have the turkey (I always claim the breast meat), and of course the traditional pecan or pumpkin pies, sometimes sweet potato.

I do remember that the past year had Chinese dishes blended in with the classics, such as shrimp, stir fries and the such (My family is Chinese and we tend to add an Eastern zest to holiday meals.)

Oh, and my absolute favorite, corn bread. I don't know why, but I bake some every year and they've come out perfect every time.
