The Postal Service

Postby Joshua Christopher » Thu Apr 07, 2005 10:54 pm

I sent Lee Beck's new album, Guero, and in return got The Postal Service's album Give Up.

It's not for everyone...but "in a just wolrd, this would stop wars."

I love it.

Via AIM. I ripped Guero, and Lee ripped their CD, and we traded.

I had a cousin who was into the Postal Service, but he said the new material just wasn't worth listening to.

...I guess they just couldn't deliver

LOL, AnimeHeretic. That was amusing.

Anyway, I really like them a lot, actually. It's so calm and peaceful to listen to... If you like Postal Service, check out Death Cab for Cutie...I'm sure you'd like them as well.

I don't like the lead singers other bant The Mars Volta as much as DCC.... anyways, The Postal Service is good expecially when I am in a bad mood and I need slow music to calm me down. I heard "Such Great Heights" was a remake of another song... but my source is not really credible so I would fully believe that.

the soothing voice of ben gibbard, jimmy tamberelo's soft, catchy beats, jenny lewis' lovely backing vocals - (all members of the postal servive)...theyre just a really great band..i'm more of a death cab fan though.

Where on earth did you hear that The Mars Volta was connected with Postal Service and Death Cab? The Mars Volta's lead singer is Cedric Bixler Zavala, formerly of the amazing band At the Drive-In. The lead singer of Death Cab and Postal Service is Ben Gibbard.

cool, someone else here listens to at the drive in?? man, their music was the backdrop of my life for awhile....mars volta and sparta are both awesome, but I would kill to see those guys get back together..."relationship of command" is a record I'll never grow tired of.

Yeah, In/Casino/Out and Relationship of Command are two albums that I can always listen to. I absolutely love At the Drive-In. As for Sparta, I don't like them, but I think Mars Volta is pretty good. De-Loused In the Comatorium is definitely way better than Frances the Mute but still.
