Dire pray request

Postby agasfas » Tue May 24, 2005 11:13 am

I usually don't ask for much help, but I have this friend that could really use all the help and prayer she can get. She first AIM-ed me asking for help but would give me any information so that I could help... I guess more for support but it's hard to help w/o any information to go on. Anyways, she's always sad and depressed and feels that nothing can change. Finally after a few weeks she finally reveals that she is always been abused, mostly verbally but sometimes physically. I try my best to help comfort her, but that's not enough because I can't physically do anything to help because of the simple fact we are only friend over the net and she lives in another state. So I feel it's out of my hands to help in a sense. I want her to seek help, but she resists it. I believe the cops got involved once but nothing happened. I've tried to get her to seek help from social services or some hotline that deals with that kind of stuff, but she doesn't really want to get the help. Not sure why. I've tried to explain that she doesn't always feel that nothing good can happen, and that's not her fault. I think fear of change, or the fact she may be used to the abuse keeps her from getting the help she needs. It's quite obvious she needs help, but I don't know what more I can do. It seems like a constant loop of sadness and depression on her end. And until she takes that step to get the help, I can't do much; besides give her some words of encouragement.

So if you can, please pray for her. I hate to see people suffer when they don't have to be. Espesically since she can get much better.

Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I agree with ILoveArt. You do pray a lot for the other CAA folks in here, Dan. I'll pray for you.

Keep on keeping on with her; just remaining her friend and being that constant, never-changing voice of encouragement and witnessing may someday click with her. And if nothing else, prayer does wonders! :thumb: I'll pray for her and for you in handling the situation.
