I like the "joke warfare" one.

"The Germans soon began working on a joke of their own."
Nazi Soldier: Zwei cats valked down die strasse. But vun vas ein blue cat.
Nazi Commandant: Zat's not funny! [shoots soldier]

I got to see Monty Python do some skits live a few months back. I've never cried so hard in my life. Vulgar, yes. Blasphemous, maybe. But funny as all get out.

BTW: I actually know the lyrics and chords to "Always look on the bright side of life." Heh. THAT'S one I probably won't do for offeratory any time soon.

Some of the skits I remember of the show.
"The Bishop" Which had someone going around blowing up priest and the Bishop was riding around like a crime fighter in a Pontiac convertable with priest trying to stop the bombings.
Bad Grandies: Groups of Grandies beating up on Punks, riding motorcycles through stores.
The cartoons are good too. Cars jumping out from behind buildings landing on people then a giant cat scares all the cars away. Then when the people rejoice to being saved the giant cat eats the buildings and a giant hand beats the cat down. :hits_self Yes I enjoy very much.

I'm suprised so many Americans understand Monty Python and other English humor so well! Its very similar to Australian humor, but American humor is so much different. English humor is better! I enjoy Monty Python, Ripping Yarns, Blackadder, Faulty Towers and some other stuff.

The Bruce skit was pretty good.

Fourth Bruce: 'Ow are you, Bruce?
First Bruce: G'day Bruce!
Fourth Bruce: Bruce.
Second Bruce: Hello Bruce.
Fourth Bruce: Bruce.
Third Bruce: How are you, Bruce?
Fourth Bruce: G'day Bruce.
Fourth Bruce: Gentleman, I'd like to introduce man from Pommeyland who is joinin' us this year in the philosophy department at the University of Walamaloo.
Everybruce: G'day!
Michael: Hello.
Fourth Bruce: Michael Baldwin, Bruce. Michael Baldwin, Bruce. Michael Baldwin, Bruce.
First Bruce: Is your name not Bruce?
Michael: No, it's Michael.
Second Bruce: That's going to cause a little confusion.
Third Bruce: Mind if we call you "Bruce" to keep it clear?

Classic.

I also liked the class on how to defend yourself against an attacker armed with a piece of fresh fruit.

From Monty Python and the Holy Grail...my favorite sceen!

SOLDIER #1:
Halt! Who goes there?
ARTHUR:
It is I, Arthur, son of Uther Pendragon, from the castle of Camelot. King of the Britons, defeater of the Saxons, Sovereign of all England!
SOLDIER #1:
Pull the other one!
ARTHUR:
I am,... and this is my trusty servant Patsy.
We have ridden the length and breadth of the land in search of knights who will join me in my court at Camelot. I must speak with your lord and master.
SOLDIER #1:
What? Ridden on a horse?
ARTHUR:
Yes!
SOLDIER #1:
You're using coconuts!
ARTHUR:
What?
SOLDIER #1:
You've got two empty halves of coconut and you're bangin' 'em together.
ARTHUR:
So? We have ridden since the snows of winter covered this land, through the kingdom of Mercia, through--
SOLDIER #1:
Where'd you get the coconuts?
ARTHUR:
We found them.
SOLDIER #1:
Found them? In Mercia? The coconut's tropical!
ARTHUR:
What do you mean?
SOLDIER #1:
Well, this is a temperate zone.
ARTHUR:
The swallow may fly south with the sun or the house martin or the plover may seek warmer climes in winter, yet these are not strangers to our land?
SOLDIER #1:
Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?
ARTHUR:
Not at all. They could be carried.
SOLDIER #1:
What? A swallow carrying a coconut?
ARTHUR:
It could grip it by the husk!
SOLDIER #1:
It's not a question of where he grips it! It's a simple question of weight ratios! A five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut.
ARTHUR:
Well, it doesn't matter. Will you go and tell your master that Arthur from the Court of Camelot is here?
SOLDIER #1:
Listen. In order to maintain air-speed velocity, a swallow needs to beat its wings forty-three times every second, right?
ARTHUR:
Please!
SOLDIER #1:
Am I right?
ARTHUR:
I'm not interested!
SOLDIER #2:
It could be carried by an African swallow!
SOLDIER #1:
Oh, yeah, an African swallow maybe, but not a European swallow. That's my point.
SOLDIER #2:
Oh, yeah, I agree with that.
ARTHUR:
Will you ask your master if he wants to join my court at Camelot?!
SOLDIER #1:
But then of course a-- African swallows are non-migratory.
SOLDIER #2:
Oh, yeah.
SOLDIER #1:
So, they couldn't bring a coconut back anyway.
[clop clop clop]
SOLDIER #2:
Wait a minute! Supposing two swallows carried it together?
SOLDIER #1:
No, they'd have to have it on a line.
SOLDIER #2:
Well, simple! They'd just use a strand of creeper!
SOLDIER #1:
What, held under the dorsal guiding feathers?
SOLDIER #2:
Well, why not?

The Best Song Ever

Postby VioletEyedCat » Mon Jun 06, 2005 8:11 am

OOOOH- IIIII'm a Lumberjack and that's okay.
I sleep all night and I work all day.

I cut down trees. I eat my lunch.
I go to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays I go shoppin'
And have buttered scones for tea.

I cut down trees. I skip and jump.
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women's clothing
And hang around in bars.

I cut down trees. I wear high heels,
Suspendies, and a bra.
I wish I'd been a girlie,
Just like my dear Papa.

Yay!!! Lumberjacks in high heels rule! Monty Python's Flying Circus deserves its own channel.

Am I the only one who thinks that 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life' is diabolically catchy? It just drills itself into your brain and next thing ya know, you've been whistling it for an hour straight.

I LOVE monty python! Flying Circus, and Holy Grail.

"It's only a flesh wound"
I'm in love with this song!!
Lion
Mysterious, that's what I call you.
I'm curious about you.
I'm scared and I'm not sure that you are safe.
But, something in your eyes says you are good.
This is not a dream that I'm living,
this is just a world of your own.
You took me from all that I knew,
showed me how it feels to hope.
With you with me, facing tomorrow together,
I could learn to fly.
It feels like I'm living in the lion's mouth,
but the lion is an angel.
Wise eyes, you see the core of me.
Your gentleness melts me.
Now I know that words cannot describe
the power that I feel when I'm with you.
This is not a dream that I'm living,
this is just a world of your own.
You took me from all that I knew,
showed me how it feels to hope.
With you with me, facing tomorrow together,
I could learn to fly.
It feels like I'm living in the lion's mouth,
but the lion is...
peace and power
love forever.
Who am I to stand before you?
I am speechless,
but in my weakness you are here and all is well.

Shadowchild is my imoto-chan!! ^_^

At one of the Kings dinners that the local pub put on (i tend to do some acting for them) we decided to do most of the Holy Grail skits unfortunetly we had a stabbing......everything was ok he did say "I'm not dead yet, it's meirly a flesh wound" after he fell down the stairs. The Burces skits is rather funny.
