right on the money!!Rei Rei wrote:Well... I can't say that Wish is my favorite CLAMP manga for a number of reasons. I've read a few chapters and there are some things that bother me a little. First of all, there are angels and demons... and I honestly can't say that their portrayal is quite correct. The main character, an angel named Kohaku, transforms into a "chibi" (small) form during the night, and his opponent, a demon called Kouryuu, does the same in the morning, and can only appear in his original shape during the night. Then we have this handsome demon named Kokyou, who's the son of the Devil himself. Kokyou is in love with an angel Hisui - and Hisui loves him back. Because of that, Hisui was expelled from Heaven (or something like that), and Kokyou was banned from Hell, so they're wandering around the human world together now. Oh, and God sends messages to his angels through some things that look like plush bunnies with flowers. They're awfully cute, I agree, but... eh. Well, you get my point.
About the gender of those angels and demons - well, I think Kokyou is male (he's the most masculine character in this story, I think, along with doctor Shuichirou), but I'm not sure about the angels. They could be feminine pretty boys OR genderless beings. Shuichirou's grandpa thought Kohaku was a girl at first, but Kohaku told him that he wasn't a girl, so they most definitely aren't female. So the relationships in this manga may or may not be homosexual... but even if they aren't, angel/demon romances are just wrong by definition, regardless of gender.

I think as long as one accepts takes the manga as it's own things and doesn't try to asign signifigant meaning to it, it's fine to read.
