BUZZZ!

I'm sorry, Kura, but the primary colors are NOT yellow, blue and red. Common misconception. The primary colors are, in reality, yellow, magenta, and cyan.

But thanks for playing. ^^

Um...I don't get it? ^^;;

Oh, I looked it up on dictionary.com. While yellow, magenta and cyan are the primary colors as far as art is concerned (yellow and cyan making green), but it also states:

The sensation of color depends upon a peculiar function of the retina or optic nerve, in consequence of which rays of light produce different effects according to the length of their waves or undulations, waves of a certain length producing the sensation of red, shorter waves green, and those still shorter blue, etc.

So as far as wavelength, red, green and blue are indeed the primary colors. ^^ But I was referring more to the artistic side.

I was just playing with your perception of color. That's all. I was indeed referring to the primary colors of light instead of pigment. Sorry for the confusion. I thought pointing out the difference between "cyan" and "blue" and "magenta" and "red" was good info, but also a bit nit-picky, so I thought I'd have a little fun with the discussion.

Not that any of this has much to do with CLAMP.

So, how about those February contest winners?

hey guys,
sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I've been so busy, and my dad just decided that i should have a limited amount of online time...

anyways, I did hear of the Tsubasa anime, and i'm very excited about it, it's going to be awesome! ^_^

termyt wrote: I've been kind of interested in Legal Drug, so I wouldn't mind a synopsis of it.
I have seen Legal Drug, but i'm not very sure of it's contents, CLAMP is not known for it's extremly disdinguishment of guy-girl couples, as far as past manga goes. I've read the first volume, but as far as i can tell, there doesn't seem to be anything bad in there yet. ^__^

I don't know if anyone has ever noticed this, because I don't remember seeing it on any websites or in this topic, but in flipping their X/1999 manga it seems Viz has created a distracting continuity error. I just recently read Tokyo Babylon volumes 5 and 6, and Seishiro loses his right eye at one point. However today I just flipped through most of my X/1999 manga books and in them Seishiro is missing his left eye ^_^. I think the error i completly caused by the fact that the Tokyo Babylon manga is unflipped and the X manga is flipped. Annoying Viz.

That's exactly why. Before manga became poplar enough in the US to print as it is released in Japan (right-to-left), all manga was flipped so it would appear left-to-right. The simplest way to do this is to produce mirror images of the pages. Some manga is still flipped for whatever reason.

Most of the negative attention was focused on manga that focused on classic cars like Initial D or Gunsmith Cats. No one really noticed that (apparently) nearly everyone in Japan must be left-handed.

Hey everybody, first forum here. Thanks to Spirit_Wolf8356 (your awesome! :) ) for telling me about this place. I just started reading Tsubasa and xxx holic (finished the first two on both), which happen to be the first manga i have really enjoyed. While reading the threads here, i noticed Dark_angel posted something about a Tsubasa anime, which i never knew existed. Can someone get me some more info about it (like is it out yet, for starters). If its half as good as the manga it should be awesome. Also, Tsubasa and xxx holic are, like i said, the first manga i have ever read (which probably means i'm missing out; i hear it has a lot of old characters). Spirit_Wolf8356 said clamp produces a lot of great manga; anybody feel like sharing some of their personal favorites? Now to explore this place more, it seems that Sakura is very popular (i assume that the Sakura in Tsubasa and the Sakura in CCS (which i have also never read) are the same), so i'm interested in how great all this manga stuff by clamp is.

...You called me awesome. :red:

Anyway, the Sakura's are kinda the same, kinda not. Tsubasa Sakura is older, but they look the same and have the same personality...and the same love interest. XD That's what counts for me.

This thread started out as a thread for "cute" things. So i think Viola, the pink haired girl in my sig is cute, but she's not from CLAMP so does that count?

By the way, how do you attach pics to your posts. I know how to add pics. use the [img] tags, but not how to attach pics.

Welcome, sparrowhawk! I second the motion that Spirit_Wolf is awesome! ^___^

Would you like to join our club? If you want to, all you have to do is ask and you'll join with the rank of Kero Cadet.

Spirit_Wolf covered it pretty well regarding the two Sakuras. lol What matters most to me is that both are adorable!

It appears that Sakura from Tsubasa and Sakura from CCS are Sakuras from alternate realities or dimensions, and yes, Tsubasa Sakura is older. And like you, I'm eagerly awaiting the Tsubasa anime but don't know a whole lot about it. But it should be awesome!!!

AS for favorite characters, if you haven't already guessed, Sakura is my favorite anime/manga character. Other favorite CLAMP characters are Hikaru from Magic Knight Rayearth and Icchan from Angelic Layer.

Sorry I haven't been around much lately. To be honest, I'm getting burnt out with CAA in general, but I will try to keep the Club running because you all are so great about coming back here time and again.

I didn't realize that that was a motion on the floor. I figured the statment itself was far too obvious to need to be put up for a vote.

Well, lets see…

Kae and I got into a discussion about primary colors mostly due to the membership’s inability to guess what color March’s trivia contest would center around. (I promise I actually knew it would be green, Spiritsword. I just guessed Burnt Umber to through people off!).

The February contest winners were announced as well as the new contest for March.

And Spirit Wolf was deemed awesome by a consensus vote.

I hope I didn't miss anything.

Spiritsword I've just noticed that you are a mere 4 posts away from reaching 2,000. My current post count is less than a quarter of yours.

The number of champions in the Arcade has also been reduced because frwl is the space invaders champion as well as the curveball champion and likewise for Talame who is the tetris and chopper challenge champion.

The other members are defeating us! We must make a stand against them!

They're artbooks, but I think there's a little bit of manga in them. I flipped through them once, but I was mostly looking for the pictures. ^_^

Yes, North Side and South Side are artbooks. I just looked through them the other day while on the hunt for CLAMP no Kiseki Vol. 1. I looked at North Side pretty extensively, and preferred that one myself. In the back of North Side there were commentaries on each print and I believe an interview with CLAMP. They look like beautiful books, but expensive, at around $30 each.

Good to see you in the thread, Kisa and Hikari! Been awhile since I've seen the two of you.
