Hi! I'm a programmer : )

Postby JediSonic » Thu Oct 16, 2003 12:43 pm

Just thought I'd introduce myself : )

I like to program computer games and stuff, and I know 2 programming languages: Java and C++! I also know HTML and JavaScript, so I can make a cool web-site but nothing as advanced as this one ;-)

I'm homeschooled so I spend a lot of time at home, bored. So I've been entertaining myself with new hobbies, like skateboarding and learning to draw anime! : D I was just starting to get bummed out at the fact that there is almost no way to search for SAFE anime (no hentai or porn) when I found this site! YAY! On that note, why the "adult images" tag on all the artwork here? I figured this site would probably be good and safe and with friendly people to talk to.. this is "YAY!", right? : )

Welcome to the nuthouse. We have quite a few programmers here, too. (Some of us even programed before java existed. :) )

C-ya around!

Word. Glad to have you aboard.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Cool! So is there a way to enable HTML? I'm more used to using "</I>" than pressing a little "I" button. But whatever  Hey, I love these smileys!

Hajimemashite.

No, HTML is not currently permitted (the site administrator determines that and I think it was a preemptive strike to head off abuse ... trolls would have a field day with malicious or just plain irritating code otherwise).

Cute sheep. Wolves like sheep...

Welcome! :lick:

Oh, and I don't know about the "adult images" thing, but this is generally a safe and fun place to hang out. :)

"So David said to Michal, "It was before the LORD, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the LORD. And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor."

Yeah, you can't put HTML in the system, but you can do some markuping. For instance, the bold and italics are just like HTML but with brackets ([) instead of angle brackets(<).

Good luck!

Hey! Welcome! Once you get used to it, bbcode is actually easier than html, mostly for the lack of shiftiness.

Hi! :jump: Hope you have fun here. This is the nicest forum I've been on. :) My son would probably love to talk with you, he's homeschooled also and I hope he's not bored. :eyebrow: I'm such a fun teacher. Yeah, he'd probably disagree too.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

lol : )

Yeah this place is COOL! The "adult images" thing, I'm pretty sure, is built into the oekaki software, which as I understand it is in no way affiliated with this site ;-)
