Dragonball (vol 15)*
Jason and the Argobots**

*hey, it was at the library.
**likely not actual manga, but not bad.

Does anyone know how many issues the original Dragonball series went on for (keeping in mind that there was no distinction between the first series and Dragonball Z)? It might hold a record.

Reread Tenchi Moyu:Sasami Stories yesterday before going to bed.
Really hilarious especially the one where Sasmi gets the hiccups. :thumb:
What's even better is at the end of the manga they tagged on all of the
comics that Okuda did for the Japanese Tenchi Fan Club.

Well, according to Anime News Network's database, the Dragonball series ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1984 No. 51 to 1995 No. 25...

I did a bit more looking, and it appears there were 42 volumes total. That equals approximately 546 issues and about 7140 pages (just figuring from averages). One Piece isn't terribly far away from that, but I'm not sure it will reach that point. Other than that, I can't think of anything that lengthy.

Well, I read a manga called Glass Mask on the internet- my scanslators tell me she's been writing since the seventies, and she's now on her forty-second volume. :wow!: Very Very Scary. I'm only on Volume 14. :sniffle: I feel bad for the people who have read her from the beginning. Talk about a life-long project!

Well, I actually know of some series that are even longer that Dragonball.

Kochikame - at least 141+
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - over 80 volumes
Hajime no Ippo - somewhere around 70+ volumes, I think
Detective Conan - 48+ volumes
Major - 52+ volumes

And of course we have Inuyasha at 39+ volumes which seems to be rapidly approaching the 42 volume mark...

That's... quite a few. Of course, many long-running manga are quite episodic, which means they could become larger indefinitely. I don't approve when you can read volume 10 or volume 20 and not really miss anything.

As for what I'm reading: Shonen Jump April

I read Shonen Jump (US Version), didn't get my issue for this month yet though. I also read Ribon. I'm reading in Japanese DN ANgel, Fushigi Yugi Genbu Kaiden, Saboten no Himitsu, Charisma Doll, Shinshi Doumei Cross, Sora no Mannaka, and Datte Suki Nandamon.

Others I'm reading are: Full Metal Alchemist, Naruto, One Piece, Tsubasa Resivoir Chronicles, Planet Ladder, X, and Xxxholic.

I think I got it all. =)
