That's interesting. Glad to see more and more exposure given to our beloved manga.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Wow, where!?

Well, they also said something about being "enthused". It should have been enthusiastic.

I think thier will always been room for classics such as Superman and spiderman. They won't be going any where any time soon. However, they will have to learn to live with the manga in the comic book world.

^__^ Yay for the RK manga! I read an article about manga in one of my mom's magazines not too long ago as well. It was all about shojo manga.
Heehee...before I discovered Kenshin I was a total literature dork.
Me: Psh. You won't catch me reading no comic books!
Two months later: Must buy next Mars manga!

The success of mangas is surprising since they mainly refer to Japanese culture and are created for Japanese readers.

=o=/ They didn't mention Sakura Kinoshita either. *hands Ingemar another $5 before her head explodes again*

:waah!:

scary! Notice they are mention yugioh, kenshin, pokemon, all that overly known stuff. Glad they mentioned fruits baskets though. Would be cool if they mentioned other stuff better than pokemon and yugioh. I mean, come on! Nobody buys pokemon and yugioh manga!

I do! Yugioh is one of Viz's most popular series now. If no one was buying it then I don't think they would have switched to releasing one volume of the manga every month like they are doing now. But it's true about pokemon :(. The sales were low so Viz cancelled both Pokemon Special and Magical Pokemon Journey! *evily glares at them* DIE Viz DIE!!! *hugs importaded Pokemon Special graphic novels*

*picks up the abused VIZ and cuddles it* No, please. You hit VIZ and you might as well be striking Imadoki. Oh, please, make manga petitions not war. ;)
