Hi Elowen! I'm an artist-in-training, and I'm taking some drawing classes right now so I can tell you a little bit about what I'm learning. Not that I've mastered it yet, but ... learning.
First, your level of detail is really nice. I like how you draw every feather, and detail on the trees, etc. Now for the (hopefully) constructive criticism: Shading. One of my drawing instructors said that drawing is really a way of seeing, and it's true. If you can really
see something and transfer it to paper, you're on your way. So for shading, pay attention to light and dark areas on your subject. Don't be afraid to go really dark, where the subject is really dark. (This was, and still is, one of my biggest problems.) Charcoal pencils are great for getting really dark, but regular pencils are fine too. You don't seem to have the problem of drawing
too dark as some people do. But shading gives shape and volume to the subject.
It's just something that takes practice, as I am learning. A good way to practice this is draw something 3-dimensional in your house, like a lamp or cup or whatever, something with shape to it. Then pay attention to the shadows and the reflections, the way the light plays on it, and draw it.
You have great potential as an artist! I'd love to see some more of your work.
