If I did, it would be there. I started the thread here, partly as a joke, and anything that makes me sore for three days counts a sport. But thanks for your helpful addition to the conversation.

And Spades does pretty good at DDR. She's learning much quicker than I did. She's in that funny transition between Light and Standard.

Nice! I'm actually going to try playing with ankle weights on tonight to see if I can slowly build up my reaction speed. I'm at the point where I can sight read 9's and some 10's, but I'm just a teeny bit slow. I'm expecting to be pretty sore tomorrow morning. -_-

Hey, that's not a bad idea. If I wasn't so cheap, I'd go out and get some ankle weights and try that...

Ok, I tried it and I could only do about six songs - then I couldn't move. Maybe tonight I'll be able to do seven. -_-.

I thought about using some ankle weights as well, Gyp; I wanted to improve my speed and strengthen my very badly damaged ankles. What size weight are you using? Where'd you get it? How much did it cost?

...wow. Only 6? Very nice. Try that every day and you'll be able to do Max 300 like it's nothing in no time. ^__^

ankle weights...heh, my legs would fall off. I have enough trouble on Standard right now because I've been out of the loop so long. I really can do up to 8 feet with my fingers...

btw, I plugged the pad in while the game was loading or something, and my data got corrupted. so even though I already had all but three of the songs unlocked...I have to do it all again. ; _ ; (did I post about this already?)

No, you didn't. I've done that before. It's not fun. You learn not to after your data gets corrupted four times. XD

Let me advice if you do go ahead w/ ankle weights, be cautious. First off, if you do, get nothing over a 5lb. You really dont need to go heavery for what you are wanting to do. I've known many people that have use ankle weights running and such and it really damaged thier ankles and knees. And considering you said your ankles are damanged, it may not be the best thing to do. Plus, DDR requires jumping, it's not good for you to jump w/ ankle weights; it causes a lot of problems to your hip joints, ankles and knees. Cost wise, for 1-5lbs I belive they are just under $15 for the pair. You can get them almost any sport and outdoor store such as Academy (for you Texans). Though if you keep it light, you may not have a problem. Just be cautious.

Ankle weights are good for building leg strength. Though it really needs to be used mainly for slow moving exercises such as weight training/lifting or even walking. It can really mess up your knees and ankles if used incorrectly like exercises involving excessive movement and jumping. (in the sense of long term damage)

Just a statement of caution.

hehe been there, done that. It truely is a weird transition! Becasue standard songs seem so hard when youre a light footer. It's so weird! You need songs that are like... in between light and standard (like a 4-5 footer for example)

The weights that I've been using are 2lbs each. They really have added a different element to DDRing, that's for sure. I have to stick to 8 footers when I wear them. I hope that this doesn't actually mess up my timing instead of improve it.

Ohh okay, at least they're not much heavier, because I have seen some people really mess some stuff up by exercising with 10-20lbs ankle weights. That's why I was recommending about 5lbs, though 2lbs are nice and light but still being enough to give you that work out. After some practice, that'll probably increase your feet speed quite a bit.

... I just imagined myself trying to DDR with 20lbs stuck on my ankles. Scary, scary scary. Actually, Zilch just did a demonstration for me of what that would look like. Penguins come to mind.

*jumps on the crazy DDR ship*

I purchased DDR Max 2 today, and it came with two pads, supposedly the "new non slip pads" We'll see about that.

Now I just have to wait for it to come in the mail. :brow:

I've been thinking about doing this for a while, and everyone I know loves it, plus *looks at hips* it's a great workout! Woohoo!

Hello. My name is Hope, and I'm a soon to be DDR addict.

Whoo! Rock on, Hope~!

Yes....I have a question for you: Where did you order DDR Max 2? And it comes with two pads...I'm just wondering because I want to buy (a newer) DDR game and pads.

Hey there.

I purchased the game and equipment off of half.com, a site associated with ebay. The pads and the game all together were only $80 w/out shipping and handling, which is why I'm a little suspicious about the pads, but I'm still really excited about the fact that I'll have the game and pads for cheaper than I could have found them in a local store. Supposedly, the product is not used or refurbished, but NEW. This is the first time I've happened upon that price, which is why I jumped on it, but if you keep checking, you can probably get the hook-up. I hope some of that was helpful.

I'll keep you guys updated on the quality of everything, so that if it's not any good, no one else will get scammed. :thumb:

Anyway, I'm sure you'll enjoy DDR~ and it's good they're giving you TWO pads. Who knows, perhaps you'll play so much one pad will only last a month! ...^^; jkjk

Wheeee! My game and dance pads FINALLY came in! Sweet!

The game pads I have are the Konami ones...I'm thinking that they're the cheap ones everyone is talking about, but so far, the sensitivity is GREAT, and it's not really sliding around too much. I've already gotten three hours worth of gaming out of it.

Jman-One of the reasons I bought this game was to include it as part of my workout regime. There's a workout mode, and an aerobic setting in the DDDR Max2 game.

I'm glad I have two pads...I think I'll wear the first one out pretty quickly ;)

I'm still on beginner mode  but I'm starting to get better. Soon, I'll be switching to light, I think. Whee!
