I was never interested in it for similar reasons...and for the reason that it screamed CHEESY to me...not sure why it just did...maybe it was the huge commerical thing...toys, books, cards, heck clothing...I figure next thing will be like Yugioh fruit snacks....(if there are it only makes my point)

Ditto. Though I've got a friend who is crazy about the game. He spent well over 600 bucks on the Yugioh cards. *shrug* His choice I guess.

There is YuGiOh cereal now. I used to watch it (the first season they showed) but I pretty much can't stand it now. It's like the same plot over and over with different characters.

I really like Yu-Gi-Oh!.. no I love it! The dub anime is completely butchered up.. the manga is so much better.. It has very positive points about friendship, the character design is cool and the story is quite fascinating if you get a deeper look of it. It's one of my faves since 2 years.

Saw some of it, and didn't like. The show is a giant toy commerical, never mind that it's about exciting as watching a cribbage tournament.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Well, the second season was what came to the US, and the parts left out of the US version were not as commerical like.

Um... Yeah... Cribbage... That about sums it up for me as well. It is stinking boring. Basically, this is exactly like watching someone play the home game. Only there are little holographic (or sometimes REAL in some eps) representations of what's going on, but still it's boring... "OH! He used the ultra mango foxtrot karate card! Oh, Yugi's gonna get it now!"

Meeh...whatever suits you people. I happen to love it. The season that we didn't get in the US was great. They played all kinds of games like Monster World (RPG-type deal) Capsule Monster Chess, Digital Pets, and others. The creator of the manga and show and stuff got a whole bunch of letters saying that he should do a series on Magic and Wizards (Duel Monsters), and therefore he did, which is the series we are getting right now. Right now, the manga in Japan is doing the Ancient Egypt arc, which has no cards or dueling. (yay!)

That was rather long....

I am not to fond of it. A card game just isn't something I get excited about. Just not an anime I like.

I enjoy watching it even though the dub is rediculously butchered up.
The characterizations are pretty good.

I do somewhat want to see the first series.

Well, actually I really like Yugioh, but I admit that the card thing can get kind of boring sometimes. I tend to overlook the occultic stuff, although the story can be kind of dark sometimes.(I kinda like that sometimes though. ^^) I know that the dubbed version is butchered pretty bad, but I still watch it. It could always be worse.(I'd really like to see the series subbed though.) The manga in Shonen Jump is good though and I've read some or the Egyptian Arc on the net.(I really like the whole Egyptian thing in Yugioh.)
Namu, I really like you sig. and avatar! Did you draw them?

the show bad, the manga good if they stopped editting out all the good things they would have alot more fans to make more money does this not compute to them?

Bahaha...I wish. I know how to draw them like that...(I do it all the time during school), but I don't have any programs to color them....so I took these from pictures I found on sites...=P

If they left all the stuff in that they cut out, some parents won't let their kids watch the show...but then again, more teens would probably watch it, so I don't know...

That's pretty funny  . I just wanted to say that.

Anyway, Namu, what does your sig say? It looks like a Chinese sentence, but I only know like 50 characters. But I know pinyin (like that matters :sniffle: ).

It was okay, but not my type. I've seen better. If you want cards, you can watch CCS or Tamers.
