a trick is to duct tape a soft ddr pad to a peice of plywood. then cover it with thin see through floor vinyl. (people use it a lot as doormats) then staple it to the bottom of the thing (the vinyl so it cant come off) do some more duct taping and then attach felt or something to the bottom of the plywood and now you have a hard/soft pad that will never move or curl again

heh, well what i used was taped my cheap dancepad onto those officemats where you put your office rollerchairs on them (the bottom of the mat is spiked, so it doesnt move)

and.... its a lil bit better

Heh. I finally played some of this at the arcade while I was spending a week in Detroit. My cousins own DDR for the Xbox and are really good.

Pretty fun game, and a good workout to boot. Maybe I'll keep at this game. Thanks for the encouragement everybody.

I've only gotten one B (or was it a C) in my life. Since then for some reason I can't get anything above an "E," and that's on novice! But yeah, it's still a great game. Too bad everyone can dance circles around me. I always loose

It's not about winning or losing - it's about DDR being a blast! There's always going to be someone that can dance circles around anyone, but if you're having just as much fun as they are, who cares?

Nice! But I'd suggest trying it out in an arcade first. .75 is a lot less for a try-out than a roughly $40 bundle at the cheapest. But, if buying to own is your only option, then I'd suggest Max or Max2. ^^

You better believe it! Just kidding! Recently, whenever I go to the arcade it's all cocky teenaged guys that try to teach me how to play, and then ask me if I want to go a game. I guess they think I'm checking them out while they're jamming out on Light or Standard (no offense to those who use those modes, just don't act like you own the game in public!) while I'm really just waiting in line. After they get done explaining how to play, I click click click to Heavy and ... well ... yeah, I purposely make them feel stupid. I probably shouldn't do that.

But that's only recently - I used to hang out with some awesome DDRers that made me look like I was back on Light, but I haven't gone to the arcade much lately. And I know of several members right here who could soundly beat me - aku being one of them.

But, I like that you go and make those silly little cocky light/standard kids feel like idiots by going over to Heavy on them. THAT is really cool. I wish I could do that around here, but DDR has been around a few years here, so everyone is on Heavy and insanely good. It's crazy.

It's really not fair. Every sibling I have can game their socks off. My cousin came in second in a local DDR tournament that had fifty something contestants. And I simply can't do this stuff.

I guess I need to buy some pads and practice---alot--- at home. *sigh* Life is just. . . not fair.

As cruel as that may be, it's alway hillarious. One day I was in the arcade with my DDR cousin (age 19), and these thirteen year old girls who looked like they had just raided Britney Spear's closet came over and were gonna "teach him how". He played along while they gave a tutorial in ditzy terminology and then he got on and did a heavy song facing backwards. It was HILLARIOUS. When he was done, he hopped of and we walked out of the arcade. As we were about to leave, one of the girls turned around and said "You could have just told us."

And in my head, I was thinking "We could have, but this was alot funnier."

Don't feel bad. My sister told me that the aforementioned tournament was actually the state wide chamionship. That means he's second in the state. *mumbles something about stupid talented people.* I'd give my opposing thumbs to have your talent on DDR, Gyps.

But if you're having fun, that's all that matters! Don't worry about how good you are unless you're planning on entering a tournament. The big thing is to 1. have fun and 2. finish the song. Everything else is secondary.

That bloody Synchronized Love is what gets me on Dancemania -Oni-, Gypsy. Very rad on the AA! I need to try AAing it on normal mode so I can get the hang of it for when they throw it at me on Oni mode after playing Get Up N Move, I Believe In Miracles, and Captain Jack all on heavy. ^__^;; I'm too wiped out after Captain Jack...
