Biblical wallpapers?

Hello all my fellow graphic designers! I had an interesting idea last night as I was falling asleep. There aren't really any good resources for anime wallpapers that are biblical (have bible verses on them), so I was thinking "why don't I make one?!?"

In order for this to work though I would need all of your help (since I only have umm... 2 walls with bible verses on them ). I would set up a art gallery using Coppermine (it would look like Ink's http://www.krazyboodle.com/inkgallery/index.php ) And I would make categories like maybe: Anime Male Characters, Anime Female Characters, Anime Couple/Groups, Original Characters, Other

The way the gallery is set up you would submit your walls (which would add them to the gallery). So what does everyone think? Is this a good idea? Would your participate? Are the categories ok? Basically just give me your opinions.

You know you can count on me to join in! I think you're right, there's a good deal of biblically-based wallpapers out there, and we ought to change that. You know I would help contribute! I think your categories work too...but maybe for a change, you could do a search feature like "verses on love", "verses on peace", or even all wallpapers from a certain book in the bible.

Anyway, I'll be glad to help with this as much as I can--just let me know what I can do (and for the record, no I haven't forgotten about that *other* gallery we talked about earlier....can we say Thanksgiving break? XD)

Not very good at making wallpapers myself, but I shall help out as much as I can. In fact... I've been thinking about how nifty it would be to have Christian lyrics or Bible Verses on anime wallpapers for a few days now... Cool! ;D

Yay people are interested! Ahh yes Ashley something like that Search idea would work. When people upload a picture you have the option of entering in Keywords. So they would just have to enter like: peace, worship, Pslam

Is what I would put for my Pslam wallpaper that I just finished recently. There's nothing I can do though if people don't enter keywords. T_T

Well then I'll get the gallery all set up and people should be able to start submitting stuff after thanksgiving sometime.

I have something to submit!! I made my first wallpaper yesterday. It's in the wallpaper section of this forum if you would like to see it, but I purposely put a Bible verse on it just for you guys!

Since I assume this will be part of Daystar, if you want I can handle overseeing submissions and making sure things are kept in order....I mean, after all you have a ton on your plate with the whole of Daystar and wallpapers are really the only thing I do to contribute there so it seems logical to me....anyway, it's up to you. I'm just trying to help out the already stressful plate you must have. Lemme know. ^^

Well actually the beauty of this thing is that you can sort of set it up as a small MiniTokyo. People can create logins and then submit suff themselves. Of couse if you are willing to take submissions that is fine too. That way we could control what gets added a little more and make sure that keywords were entered. Plus I doubt you are going to get overwhelmed with submissions (there just aren't that many bible walls out there :\ )

And it's a really fantastic idea...the more I think about it the more I love the idea. And that way I can make sure everything has an appropriate keyword and all...like I said I really don't mind, but it's totally up to you.

Ok then I'm more then willing to have you take over the submissions. I was about to go and make it when I realized I don't know what to call it. Anyone have some good ideas? I was thinking of:

or something like that, but I'm definately open to suggestions. Once we pick a name I'll set up the basics for you Ashley and then you can take over.

Illuminus (illuminate, duh)
Lux/Lucia (light)
Ancora (anchor)
Agnus Dei (lamb of god)
Sanctus (holy)

Or since it has to do with biblical stuff, something taken from a verse would be cool too, like Eagle Wings or something like that.

But I'm really really bad at naming stuff, so take these with a grain of salt (in true Roman form XD)

Question, what is Daystar? I've seen that word being tosses around a few times and I'm a bit confused. But names... Best you don't take any name suggestions from me, you may end up with suggestions like: "Anime wallpapers w/ christian themes" , "The best darn christian wallpapers on the net, " or perhaps "Clickity Click click for Christian anime themed wallpapers."
Something titled w/ a really dorky and long name like that. Hope y'alls names come out better.

Ohhh I like the Illuminus idea! Then people who submit walls could be called Illuminusers... Illuminators... Illumins... XD

And I just checked yahoo and google and the sites that come up with "illuminus" are not that special so we could easily overpower them and get to the top of the results.

Well since you are going to be in charge why don't you pick the name Ashley? Any of those Latin names are fine with me or Clickity works too. XD Just let me know and I'll go ahead and make the image gallery so you can start adding stuff. I think I will make a "site page" for it too which will basically explain how to submit stuff, guidelines, and contact info. Probably it would only be one page long. but that kind of changes how I name the gallery. For example if we named it clickity then I would make the address for the guidelines page: http://www.myrrhlynn.net/clickity and the actual gallery would be: http://www.myrrhlynn.net/clickity2 (or something like that) How does that sound?

XD Well you need to pick only one! XD Humm I like Sanctus Lux or Sancuts Est. I think personally I like the Lux one better though. Lol, don't worry, to set it up it takes about 5 minutes, I'll just fix some settings and then give you the login and password so you can get started. If you pick a name soon I can even try to get it ready today yet (but I have to go home soon so someone hurry up and pick a name!)

Sanctus Lux means "Holy Light", which considering we are Christian artists in a very secular-dominated department (anime wallpapers), I find it pretty appropriate. And it SOUNDS cool. Clickity was actually a serious consideration in my mind too. ^^

Considering this is a daystar extension, by the power vested in me as curator I say an absolute yes. We need all the submissions we can get!

I think that's an excellent idea, Talame! Also, perhaps when we get the ball running, I wouldn't mind promoting a few biblical-based wallpaper contests for our submitters as well.

Quick Question, Myrrh: Shall we also accept work with lyrics from Christian songs, or do you want this strictly bible verses?
