Hi,
Well I better start from the beguning. My dad has been abusive to my mom,sister,brother and me, since my parents were married, and when I was in 5th grade my mom leaft my dad. That was about the happyes day of my life. By my dad hasnt changed. And now Iam going into 10th grade. And he wount leave me alone. So a mounth ago I hold him that ive been scard of him my whole life, and that I didnt like him. After I did this my dad jerked the truck over to the side of the road, and started yealing at me, and told me that my mom put me up to this. And his dad who was a good person, started a bank acounts for me and my sister and brother. And now my sister hasnt goten any of her money for collage. And I wont get mine. Becuase my dad has his name on it, and this little sentince that says even if were over 18 we couldnt have it unless he says we can. And my brother thinks what hes doing is ok. And he wants to go live with my dad. But my sisters in VA so she dosnt really have to deal with all of this. And mt dads mother is worse than my dad and my dads sister the same too. And my moms parents are dead and she has no siblings. So I have no family on my moms side. And she hasnt re-marride. So I feel like I have no dad, like hes dead or somthing. And I really need one konw to show me that all men artn like my dad. And to just show he cares. My youth leader to me to reliy on god more as my father but thats so hard for me. Help ,Pray,Please

Hey welcome to the forums kannaqueen ill pray for your situation and what your youth leader said is the best thing you can do and even if your dad doesnt give you money for college there are other ways.. such as scholarships.. join the military or just take out a loan and when you start making money you'll be able to pay it off sorry im not much for advice but i recently joined the Air Force just for something to do with my life and to serve my country im hoping to leave for basic training soon im excited!! i didnt realy do it for the college though but if you do good in school you could end up with a full ride scholarship like 2 of my cousins got and one of them hes not even really that smart

Guy's she's 14 years old...she's got some years before she needs to worry about that.

This is absolutely horrible. But let me get some things straight here so your dad is basically blackmailing you and withholding your sister's college money? Why in the <snip> is he doing this? Is it because you expressed your feelings about him to his face? I'm really at a loss for words here right now so I'm going to pray for you.

Just persevere and remember that you still have your mom around. Since you have a few years before adulthood, try to help her and let her help you and keep praying. I hope things improve, and I'll pray for you.

Hi,
Thankyou guyes so so much. A cuple of things I forgot to mention my mom barly make enough money to support us, and she works so hard. And when I stopped seeing my dad I stopped seeing my dog. Who I grew up with, and love so so much(her names Ginger). My dad lives on a farm. He is also abusive to animals. He once killed a calf in frount of my eyes. So I really am afrade hes abusing my dog. And I cant help thinking about her there. And Ive lost a very good relationship with my brother whos 13 now, over my dad. And I cant not any longer she my young cusins, who I miss. Tour idea about the Military, but Im already acsepted to an acting school, and plain to become a actress, I feel it is what god wants me to do,prayer is a powerful thing. And Im always up for a challeng with gods help. But please more opions and your words.

heh its ok the military was just an idea since i joined i thought id throw something out thats really cool that you are wanting to become an actress maybe someday you'll be famous! im sorry about your situation with your dog and your family not having enough money.. have you guys ever tried to get food stamps or something? anyways ill still be praying

Hi, you totally have my prayers. I don't know how to help other than that, so hopefully this is ok. (sends e-hug) You'll get through this somehow.

If you're dad won't leave you alone, can you take any kind of legal action? A restraining order something or will that make it worse? You deserve better than this!

Can anyone one at you're church act as something of a father figure? Maybe going to see you perform in a play of something like that at least?

For college, if it is hard for your mom to make enough, then you should be able to get financial aid. It sounds like the college might really want you to go there if they are accepting you as a tenth grader. To get the financial aid that you should get, you might need some way demonstrating that your father isn't helping, but this sounds doable. Financial need is also considered in scholarships. Fastweb.com is a scholarship search site. Try searching there and sending a few places the required essays. (This might be easiest before you start college.) It's worth a try. Financial aid offices may also have people who can help you find scolarships. Try to keep you gpa above 3.0 if you can. This is the most common gpa requirement, but if you can't, there are still scholarshps that you can apply for. My family's auto insurance offers a "good student discount" as well as a good driver discount for students with a 3.0 or higher. I found that I did best taking 12 units instead of 16. This also gives more time for a part time job or something. Many colleges have part time jobs available with hours that you can work around classes. I don't know how close you live to the campus, but consider where you will live. At some Cal States, a student living in the dorms will pay as much for housing as they wil for other stuff.

Thank you so much for your support, and prayers, but my mom dose have enough money for food, a appertment and cloths for us, but not like christmas presents or birthdays, and other stuff.So please keep your seggestions coming.

God has an answer to this whole thing, and I'm sure He'll reveal it to you (probably through His Word, that seems to be one of His favorites!) Stay strong in the faith, persevere and you will be blessed in the end!
