Post the stupidest song you've ever heard

For all the music-lovers out there, this is your place to swap lyrics, talk about new bands and jazz about concerts. All things related to the audio world belong here.

Post the stupidest song you've ever heard

Postby SManBeyond » Sun Jun 27, 2004 6:22 pm

Ever heard a song that was just beyond awful? A song that was just plain dumb? A song that made you either laugh or groan? Now here's your chance to express your opinion. Post the #1 dumbest song you've ever had the pleasure of hearing. :)

And, as always, please be respectful of the opinions of others.

I'll post my "stupidest song" if there's general interest in this thread (i.e. responses)...

LFO, Summer Girls. What horrifically dumb lyrics.
Maybe our mistakes are what make our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course, we wouldn't fall in love, or have babies, or be who we are. After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're very lucky, a plane ride away.

I'd have to say... prolly "Mambo Number 5" or "It's getting hot in here"

Perhaps anything by "Bloodhound Gang" (it's really embarassing when two of your friends are singing one of their songs on a missions trip... -_-)

There are songs that I hate more than those, but I can't think of songs viable for this conversation that are more stupid... (I say "viable for this conversation" because a lot of songs are stupid on purpose)

Edit: Pertaining to female vocalists, I actually prefer male vocalists as well... At least in english... In Japanese, there is a biger percentage of "not-sucky" singers in the female population based on what I've heard so far...

Any secular rap song. This is a broad generalization, but most rap songs are about sex or violence and those things are just dumb in songs.

My selection is "Are You Going to Be My Girl?" By Jet. The singer has an annoying voice, the verses are repetitive, and the lyrics are just plain dumb. I break out into laughter while groaning inside whenever I hear this song.

I totally forgot about Tenacious D, but their music goes under "comedy" so I don't know if I'd include it in this category...

I do know that I had a horrible hour and a half drive listeing to tenacious d and crappy rap songs... GAH!!! I hate that crap ganster rap so much...

I don't know its name. I don't care who sang it. Since this song is heard only in South Africa, consider yourself lucky that you do not have to face this massive dark evil of putridness that this song has to deliver. It drives sane men insane, this song.

It's ten minutes long. And only 7 words repeated for 10 minutes continously.

"MACDONALDS! MACDONALDS! KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN AND PIZZA HUT!!!"

10 minutes over and over and over...

Whenever I hear that song I just want to duck and cover.

That one that goes "Discovery Channel" or something... horrible song only about sex and it was popular when it came out too. It's good that the singers haven't come out with anything since. T__T

I would have to say that Britney Spears totally sucks!! Same goes Jennifer Lopez. I like N*Sync and some of the Backstreet Boys but Kid Rock has to be the worst artist ever!! (especially what he did at the 2004 superbowl!! :red: :?: )

It's "Stacy's Mom", but yeah, I dislike it too. The artist is Fountains of Wayne.

Greek Song by Rufus Wainwright

A few lyrics are passible, but four minutes of ending every other sentance with "You turn me on, you turn me on," gets a little old.
“Have courage for the great sorrows of life and patience for the small ones; and when you have laboriously accomplished your daily task, go to sleep in peace. God is awake.â€

Three words that will forever be engraved in my mind because it was on the radio 24/7 when I went to Miami last year, "In da club" by 50 Cent. Another bad song for Japanese kids to be listening to, or anyone that understands the language is "egniryS cimredopyH +) an injection" by Dir en Grey.

Enrique Inglasis' (can't spell) Don't Turn Off the Lights. It just goes all high pitched out of nowhere! "So don't turn off the liiIIIIIIIiiiiights!" then he shouts it out on one part going "DON'T TURN OFF THE LIIIIIIIGHTS!" Only thing this song can do is give you a headache -_-' Sometimes I wonder how songs like these can make the charts on ANY radio station!

Actually, that's 2 words, 2 letters, and a number. Whatever.
-Mr. Picky

A friend and I have come up with a way to discern real punk from trendy pop-punk. If you can clap along to it with the "Hey Mickey You're So Fine" rhythm (e.g. Sk8er Boi, All The Small Things) it's pop-punk.
No offense intended to anyone who digs Avril or Blink. I'm just yankin' your chain. ;)

Lyrically stupid? Clearly you were simply offended by the language and refused to even try to find the meaning of the song. The song is a slap in the face to record lables...which, I rather liked. Other then the obvious overkill use of the F word...which...most copies have been edited out..even the radio wont play the real verson....The song is a good song.
