Better than nothing I guess. If anime were music, then Texhnolyze would the funeral doom metal of anime.
Well, at least Garden of the Sinners made it.

Group A
Spirited Away (2001)
(Fairly obvious choice.)

Group B
~ABSTAIN~
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (2007) VS Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009)
(WAT WAAAAAAAAT. ;A; I can't choose, no matter how I slice it. This never happens to me. I can usually give a cold shoulder to one.)

Group C
Baccano! (2007)
(Obvious choice again.)

Group D
Ouran High School Host Club (2006)
(*is shot, in the face* I can't deny that Madoka is the better of the two in regards to just about everything, but I Ouran strikes a stronger chord with my heart than Madoka does.)

Group E
Mawaru Penguindrum (2011)
(Penguins~)

Group F
5 Centimeters per Second (2007)
(Dare I say this was hands down? *is shot, again*)

Group G
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzuyima (2006)
(In memory of the lost Disappearance.)

Group H
Summer Wars (2009)
(GAAH, WHY. Though I haven't see all of Spice and Wolf, but Summer Wars would probably still win it.)

I should have participated earlier. Looks like my favorites were taken down quite easily. :p

A: Spirited Away
B: FMA: B
C: Abstain (haven't seen Baccano! and don't particularly love E7, so...)
D: Hard choice, but Ouran High School Host Club
E: Abstain (haven't seen Tatami Galaxy, dislike Penguindrum).
F: Hard choice, but I like The Girl Who Leapt Through Time just a bit more.
G: Noein
H: Summer Wars

Group A
Spirited Away (2001) Two fables of whimsy and wonder, both of them great. However, the impressive technical achievements of Spirited Away and a more satisfying ending triumphs over the more interesting questions that Kaiba proposed.

Group B
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (2007) I will not lie: FMAB is the better of both, but I strongly believe both of them deserve to advance and FMA is the one less likely to have any trouble during the rest of the round.

Group C
Baccano! (2007) No need of justification here.

Group D
Puella Magi Madoka Magica (2011) The fact that both of them are in the same tier is baffling to me to begin with.

Group E
Abstain. Really want to watch both.

Group F
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006) Ahh, this is a hard one but I'll vote on fanboyism alone.

Group G
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzuyima (2006) Noein is interesting and all. TMOHS is anime-love re-sparking for me.

Group H
Spice and Wolf (2008) Again, SW is the better one (I'll give you this one only this time, Hats) but Spice and Wolf needs and deserves all my love.

Group A
Spirited Away (2001)

Group B
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - because FMA:B did have that rushed beginning

Group C
Baccano! (2007) - Is this even a choice?

Group D
Puella Magi Madoka Magica (2011) - incomplete ending means Ouran goes

Group E
The Tatami Galaxy (2010) - so awesome

Group F
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006) - Did not like 5 CM as much

Group H
Spice and Wolf

@skreyola: I suppose that's possible. :)

(Edit: And now, after typing out this whole thing, I realized that I said a lot but am not actually voting for much in this round... :red::sweat:)

Group A:
Abstain.
(Ugh. This was difficult, since I love Spirited Away; but I haven't seen Kaiba yet, so...)

Group B:
Abstain.
(Had to not vote on this one, too, because while I love the FMA manga, I haven't seen either of the FMA anime, and-- like Kaiba-- Gurren Lagann is still on my to-watch list.)

Group C:
Abstain.
(Yet again, E7 is on my to-watch list, and Baccano! is on my to-read list...)

Group D:
*Puella Magi Madoka Magica*
(Whew, finally a vote! :P Now, as for this choice, I love the Ouran manga to bits ; but even if the anime were a perfect adaptation of it-- and I've heard that it's not-- Madoka would still be the obvious winner here.)

Group E:
*Mawaru Penguindrum*
(This is another difficult one, again due to what I have and have not seen. :P However, while TTG-- like a number of the previous titles-- is still on my to-watch list, I have a feeling that even if I had seen it before this contest, I'd probably still give the edge to Penguindrum, and thus would really be kicking myself later on if I didn't vote for the latter here.)

Group F:
Abstain.
(Eh... I actually thought for a brief moment about voting for 5cps just because I was so dissatisfied with the ending of TGWLTT, but I haven't seen 5cps, so I've no idea if I would be satisfied with it, either. :P So, no vote.)

Group G:
Abstain.
(Ugh... why are all these choices so hard, LOL. I've only read the Suzumiya novels + seen the Disappearance movie, and while I quite enjoy the former and think the latter is fantastic, I don't how good the TV series' adaptation was. So, even though I also quite enjoyed Noein, I'm going to have to sit this one out as well.)

And finally, one last one I can actually vote in :P -- Group H:
*Summer Wars*

(I mean, I enjoy Spice & Wolf-- or at least its novels-- just as much as the next person, but this choice was easy.)
Saved by grace.

Abstain. (I really want to vote for Spirited Away, but since I haven't seen Kaiba I will refrain.)

Group F
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (Both are great movies, but the ending of 5 cm/s seemed awfully abrupt and just did not have the emotional impact on me that it was clearly trying for. In contrast, TGWLLT doesn't have any particular shortcomings in my eyes, and I thought it had interesting things to say about the consequences that ensue from trying to meddle with things.)

Group A
Kaiba (2008) Tough choice but I'm going with the underdog.

Group B
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009) I am still waiting for a Gurren Lagann Let's Watch to motivate me to finish it.

Group C
Baccano! (2007) Eureka 7 is good, but Baccano is just in another class.

Group D
Puella Magi Madoka Magica (2011) I haven't seen Ouran, but I have a feeling if I had I'd still be voting Madoka.

Group E
Mawaru Penguindrum (2011) I haven't seen either, so I flipped a coin.

Group F
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006) I'm not really a 5cps fan.

Group G
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzuyima (2006) Kyon is basically me as a guy.

Group H
Spice and Wolf (2008) I want to see both of these about equally as much, so I'm voting S&W as payback for SW (these abbreviations could get confusing) defeating Brotherhood in the 2010 thread.

I think the most entertaining part of this tourney is that since everyone's favorites are here the preliminaries basically consisted of everyone going "Oh man of course my favorite thing only lost because not enough people have seen it." I'm not trying to be down on Texhnolyze, Paranoia Agent, or Cross Game but I'm pretty sure I'd still pick Xam'd or Library War over them. Just kind of funny to see everyone assume their thing is the best and would be loved by everyone if only they watched it.

Anyways, this round is composed mostly of choosing which of my kids I have to let live. I'm not sure if that's better or worse than the previous rounds of watching almost all my favorite things die.

A: Kaiba
C: Baccano! (this is the worst decision ever but gotta stick to my favorite anime ever)
D: Ouran High School Host Club (similarly gut wrenching)
E: The Tatami Galaxy (Not quite as awful but close)
F: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (Hosoda is always the right answer when it comes to films)
H: Summer Wars (EASIEST PICK RIGHT HERE)

Interesting viewpoint, personally I believe that Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is the best Shounen anime made in the 2000's and I think it deserves the praise it gets despite the fact that it is not really one of my favorites at this moment in time. Fullmetal on the other hand was an entertaining but flawed Shounen.. Personally I think the first series, dispite the fact that it went away from the manga, for a while was the better of the two series. I did not like the ending to Brotherhood, I believe that the ending to the first series was better than the re-make series, this is due to the fact that the ending to the First series was in-line with the message that the anime preached. The ending to Brotherhood on the other hand kinda ruined the whole message that was preached and felt like a a happy-go-lucky ending where everything works out for our heroes

REDLINE (2009) Naturally.

Group B
Millennium Actress (2001) By a landslide.

Group C
Princess Tutu (2003) Obvious choice.

Group D
Haibane Renmei (2002) *is shot by Hat*

Group E
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (2007) I can't believe I'm doing this...

Group F
Durarara!! (2010) Most solid series like DRRR!! that are put up against the old FMA anime can stand up well.

Group G
Mononoke (2007) I like the animation style better in Mononoke.

Group H
Chihayafuru (2011) Karuta is always the obvious choice.
