So many 6s for the amazing R.O.D. ;_; Its only crime: existing way before most of our participants ever heard the word "anime".

I'm ready to jump in and give R.O.D (OVA) a 1, but I'd have to rate the other shows, and you nixed my 'give them all a 4' idea.

ok, I'll jump in anyway

Group Electricity
4. Chihayafuru (2011)
6. Princess Jellyfish (2010)
5. Eureka Seven (2005)
3. Cross Game (2009)
2. Texhnolyze (2003)
1. Read or Die OVA (2001)

This is true and probably why most people can''t vote for it - they know nothing about it, unlike most of the other titles.

It's also in an incredibly tough bracket (at least in my opinion). As gateway as it was... theres just a lot of shows better than it in the group it's in... especially E7 PJ and Cross Game.

argh! I was *this* close to putting Xam'd over Durarara!! :mutter:

...Wow, I've only actually finished one of these.

Group Electricity
1. Eureka Seven (2005) (half finished, one of these days....)
2. Princess Jellyfish (2010) (as funny as it was I feel kind of like this is too high)
------
3. Read or Die OVA (2001) (I want too see it)
4. Texhnolyze (2003) (I want too see it)
5. Cross Game (2009) (reading)
6. Chihayafuru (2011)

Group Wind
-------
1. Birdy The Mighty Decode (2008)
2. Full Metal Panic! (2002) (seen some of it, can't justify putting it higher)
3. Library Wars (2008)
4. Seirei no Moribito (2007)
5. Ouran High School Host Club (2006)
6. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (2007)

Oh wow, this thread is still chugging away, huh? With good reason, though; it takes a while to find the best anime of the 2000s.

I'm a bit surprised that Kino no Tabi and Xam'd didn't make it through. (probably because I haven't been voting? Haaaha, yeah right.)

Oh right, this round's votes.

Group Electricity
1. Chihayafuru (2011) (this is the only one I've actually seen fully in this group. Plus it does deserve a number 1 spot, in our hearts! ;o; )
2. Cross Game (2009) (erm, the manga was good. XD)
3. Texhnolyze (2003) (Neane likes this or something, so it's probably pretty okay)
4. Eureka Seven (2005) (I've just been meaning to watch this)
5. Princess Jellyfish (2010) (the gifs for this on tumblr are funny)
6. Read or Die OVA (2001) (the title has always intrigued me, but not enough to check it out, sorry. Anyone want to try to sell me on this? Because I have no idea what it's about.)

Group Wind
1. Ouran High School Host Club (2006) (Naturally, it's number 1)
2. Library Wars (2008) (Man, the poster for this in Japan was pretty great)
3. Full Metal Panic! (2002) (I never got the stamina to go past the second episode, but I still like it for some reason)
4. Birdy The Mighty Decode (2008) (Same as with FMP, except I haven't gone past the first epsiode)
5. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (2007) (Normally, this would be number 6, but I still hold onto the fact that Lelouch was my favorite character in this show just because of his nickname Lulu.)
6. Seirei no Moribito (2007) (I don't even know what this is. Is it good, though? Would it beat out Code Geass?)

It seems I caught things at a bad time. I don't know much about these series so I didn't really have many reasons to vote (besides OURAN 4EVER). Hopefully next round I'll make more valuable input. XD;

There will never be a best of anime thread without broken hearts. It's DESTINY.
Don't worry, we can have a party and cry together after Code Geass wins, Mao. <3

Anyway.

Group Water
1. Casshern Sins (2008) (It was a hard choice between Casshern and Natsume. D: They both are deserving of being number 1, but for different reasons. I enjoyed Casshern before I even knew about Natsume, so there's that.)
2. Natsume Yuujinchou (2008) (I love this series. *_*)
3. The Tatami Galaxy (2010) (Otherwise known as "The anime that you can't understand because everyone talks so freaking fast". I haven't seen past the second episode, but I think it's a worthy choice for number 3)
4. Mononoke (2007) (Still haven't finished this, sorry Hat. :< It's good, though!)
5. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (2002) (This was okay, I guess.)
6. Macross Frontier (2008) (*is killed by Hat*)

Group Earth
1. REDLINE (2009) (Naturally.)
2. 5 Centimeters per Second (2007) (for all the crap I could give it, I'll admit it was pretty fantastic.)
3. Howl's Moving Castle (2004) (I'm surprised this is on the list at all. I thought I was the only one who like Howl's Moving Castle. ;-; )
4. Tokyo Godfathers (2003) (Great movie.)
5. Mushishi (2006) (Only saw the first episode. I've been being to see more.)
6. Eikoku Koi Monogatari Emma (2005) (I think I saw the manga to this a while back and was like, "meh." Is it really that good?)

EDIT: To Neane - I only enjoyed Baccano! on the list you mentioned, but I still might check out Seirei no Moribito.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in paths of righteousness For His name's sake. Even though I walk though the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me. Thou dost prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; Thou hast anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23

I'm just going to be tearful every single round. :< On the other hand CHIHAYAFURU MADE IT so I guess I shouldn't complain.

I'd get into the Moribito discussion and what's good about it, but I think I'd be spouting half plot synopsis, half lame analysis. If you look up the premise somewhere and it sounds interesting, you'll probably enjoy it. While I for one did like it, I thought it lagged in the middle too much and the better parts weren't particularly impressive. >.>

Anyway, Group Water hurts because, minus five Casshern episodes, I've seen and enjoyed everything in it. 8C

Group Water
1. Macross Frontier (2008) (ALTO, FOR WHOM DO YOU SPREAD YOUR WINGS)
2. Natsume Yuujinchou (2008)
3. Casshern Sins (2008) (this and Natsume are pretty much tied for me, the only thing really deciding the order here being that I haven't finished Casshern yet)
4. Mononoke (2007)
5. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (2002)
6. The Tatami Galaxy (2010)

I can vote stuff I've seen lower than stuff I haven't, right? (I would've done so earlier for Xam'd but I assumed that wouldn't be acceptable, but since I've seen others do it...) Save me from having to give Howl's a 3, everything else looks so much better. ;__;

I was positive that someone would point this out and of course it would have to be you. :P But to be fair, as deep as my own fanboyism goes, I'd have just nodded in agreement if somehow Code Geass didn't pass this round; I'm well aware of its shortcomings. I'd still mourn more R.O.D.'s destitution.

Group Light
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzuyima (2006) (Penguindrum is by far the better choice, but for personal preference, Haruhi comes slightly above it, for Kyon alone)
Mawaru Penguindrum (2011) (Excellent.)
Kara no Kyoukai (2008) (I've heard this was good)
AnoHana (2011) (I've also heard this was good.)
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG (2004) (Er, it's okay from what I saw of it. Not really by cup of tea, though)
RahXephon (2002) (I couldn't ever find the stamina to watch all of this.)

Group Dark
The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (2011) (Quite naturally. But I did have to think very hard before putting it ahead of Eden of the East)
Eden of the East (2009) (Brilliant show.)
Fullmetal Alchemist (2004) (Had it been Brotherhood, it would be number one in EVERYTHING. Still great for what it was, though.)
Spice and Wolf (2008) (I enjoy this series)
Paranoia Agent (2004) (I watched one episode. It was okay-ish)
Dennou Coil (2007) (Again, watched one episode, cool, but still not enough to convince me. Wanna try to sell this one too?)

Feeling much less informed and knowledgeable this round. I really don't have much clue about how to rank most of the stuff below the 'line of sight', so I guess I will be unintentionally stomping on some people's hearts. >_>;
