Dat Episode.
I need pictures, pictures of ponies. The whole Gabbie Gums thing was hilarious, though I expected them to try and write something about Diamond Tiara, or about Cherilee's Cider addiction. Apple jack + Super ticked = Big Macintosh. Big Mac + Super ticked = Most lines ever. Oh, and Featherweight looked like Peter Parker. xDD
On a side note, I FINALLY finsihed season 1! Now I am on the first two episodes of season 2, and it is AWESOME!
I have to say that I much prefer Discord over Nightmare moon. He's a villain with much more class, and he's voiced by Q from Star Trek. Can't get much better than that.

I loved the episode, but I agree with Zeldafan2 that not all of it made complete logical sense. It wasn't enough to really bother me at all, but Diamond Tiara seemed rather OOC the while time for me. Maybe because she actually had something like characterization going on this time. Despite her villainy in the episode, I didn't mind her as much as in Call of the Cutie.
I adored Rarity in this episode, even though she didn't get tons of screen time. What she had was priceless. The "Et tu, Gabby?" line was one of the best references ever. I love how intelligently this show is written :D As a communications major and former school paper editor-in-chief, I appreciated this episode a lot.
Also, Sweetie Bell's voice crack was probably the best Sweetie Bell voice crack yet!
All in all, another very good episode. The quality never seems to drop with this show!
On the episode:
Wow, a lot of nods towards the fandom in this episode, really amazing. This episode was a lot more serious than I thought it would be. I love that they can give us this various types of episodes, from adventure, fun, serious and all the rest, not just sticking to one thing. Rarity was indeed priceless in the episode. “I'll destroy her!” Loved it. Also the 'apple-pie' between Rarity and Sweetie Belle that was still going on. Twilight's force-field was a real laugh.
But what I really liked about this episode was going back to how important the cutie marks were to the CMC. Episodes like 'The cutie pox' are fun, but it's episodes like these that make me love the other episode even more.
And the answer to ZeldaFan's question is Bon Bon. She's buying up all the newspapers, even if she was in one of the articles I doubt that would stop her reading gossip of other ponies.
Edit: And I almost forgot. Trixie! It was only a reference but, TRIXIE! I bet Seth is still stunned about that. :)
There just wasn't enough episodes this season! Not enough Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy or Twilight! Not enough Rarity or Applejack! Not enough CMC! Did we have enough Rainbow Dash? I don't think so. 26 episodes just isn't enough for a season.

Anyway. Is anypony ready for a wedding yet? I'm looking forward to next week's episode. But this wedding is going to be colossal!

Edit: Actually what I've just realized is that at the end of season 2 I still want to know more about these character. There is still so much we don't know and more that they can give us.

Well, I never thought I'd say it, but I'm actually starting to get into this show.

I was stubborn before and refused to go past the 1st episode, but I was bored tonight and decided to do so and it's actually pretty good.

I'm not entirely sure why I like it, but I do. XD Maybe it's the innocence? Oh I dunno. lol

Also, it's funny. XD I thought being my age I would be above the jokes and puns, but it turns out I'm not. lol

Welcome to the herd. :thumb:

I think it's because there is a lot to like about the show that it's sometimes hard to point out just one thing. There's quality animation, story, VA, characterization and so on. And it ends up that there is really something for anybody to like and the rest ties it together nicely. :)

Do you have a favorite pony yet?

Hmm well, there's different things I like about a few of them. lol

I like the colors and awesomeness of Rainbow Dash. The cute VA of Fluttershy (She reminds me of one or two people I know. XD ). The randomness of Pinkie Pie (Again, reminds me of a few friends). And Apple Jack just because I like apples. XD

I just watched episode 22 of the first season (the one where Fluttershy tries to take care of the sick bird). Pretty good episode, if I do say so myself. :)
I wasn't expecting the bird to be a phoenix until she burst into flame and ashes. That was a very clever move.
It also had me laughing a lot, and I needed a good laugh right now. It was also sweet and cute, which I needed a dose of. :)

Loved that episode (altough I love all the episodes ). The chase scene was especially hilarious, and I almost cried at that one scene with Fluttershy.
Also the episode that justified the existence of Trollestia I believe. :eyeroll:

Those two episodes are still probably my favorites! Discord is definitely a great villain. I think he's better than even some classic Disney villains! There's some really really good episodes in Season 2, though, so you're still in for a lot of treats! On the whole, I think I like Season 2 better than Season 1. The writing just seems sharper and more on point. Although Season 1 is just so perfect, too... hmmm. They're both the best :)

I'm glad you've joined us, ADXC! I was the same as you for a while after I watched the first episode, but curiosity got the better of me, and it was all uphill from there! I think you'll find that the more you watch it, the more you like it. I think I like it more with every episode! And with almost 50 under my belt now, that's a lot of like!

Also, I agree with Bio's assessment that it's hard to pinpoint just one thing about the show that makes it so good. It's the culmination of so many little things. There's so much detail and so much care put into every episode... little nods to the fans, returning jokes, etc.

Speaking of nods to the fans,
When they mentioned Trixie in the newspaper, that was definitely a big tip of the hat to the bronies! I'm pretty sure Trixie was just a useful-for-the-plot character that was written just for that episode and then meant to be thrown away (like Gilda the Griffin), but the fact that they mentioned her can only be because of the massive number of fans that adore Trixie. I think it's pretty cool that they do that. And then the whole thing with Derpy, of course, even though that turned into a bit of a fiasco. I'm glad that they're still putting some subtle things in there for us bronies despite all that Derpy drama.
Agree with Felix. They're really doing a wonderful job at treating us Bronies. Especially recently. Everything in this episode, last weeks tree reference and also Lyra Heartstrings.

Oh, and let's not forget about de Lancie. That's kind of a big deal.

Trollestia? Haha sorry, I still don't know very much about the MLP community and terms that the members of said community make up. I've mostly watched the show without doing a whole lot of research on the fanbase.

That's alright, I kinda sneaked that in there. If you need to now anything about the fandom don't be afraid to ask. We've grown quite large and there's a lot to know.
As for Trollestia: There were a few fans that gave Celestia a personality where she trolled the main 6 and all of Equestria (admittedly it was a fandom idea and they always treated it like that) and dubbed her Trollestia. It was the way she never told Twilight how to defeat Nighmare Moon and a lot of other little things, like what happened in 'The ticket master'. The episode with Celestia's pet was the episode where everybody agreed that there was at least a little bit of Trollestia in Celestia.
After this however a third, even worst, Celestia persona popped up. I don't know where it came from and I don't really care, I don't like it and most Bronies don't.
But here's a funny comic starring her, so you can think about this whenever you hear about her. And if you don't know the big guy on the right, don't worry you're going to love him when you get to his episode. da comic

I'm like freaking Otacon in Metal Gear. “Twilight Snake, don't you know smoking is bad for you!” (did Otacon ever complain about that? Or was it just the girls?)

That's right! ZeldaFan started season 2. Have a song, you'll really love this. Discord

Bio, 26 episodes were how many episodes there were in the first season. So how can you say there weren't enough episodes?

Regarding what you said Felix, I was thinking that meant she had come back in a episode of season 2 I hadn't seen. I didn't know she never appeared again! That makes me wonder, how did they find out where she lived?

@ZeldFan  So what did you think about the episode? 'Lesson Zero' has become one of the more popular episodes among the fandom, with very few Bronies (including me) not really liking it. We had a good rant about it a while back and I got over it. But I think the episode took us all by surprise when it first aired.

You could say that, Bio. Or you could say, I WOULD NEVER HAVE SEEN IT COMING IN A BILLION TRILLION YEARS!!!! And I didn't! It made for possibly the funniest episode I have seen so far (it helped me recover from
the lackluster final battle with Discord.
The problem was though was that Twilight was so OOC in this episode. It just didn't feel like her, if you know what I mean. I can imagine Tara Strong shaking her head when she read this and thinking, "Wow, I never imagined Twilight going this far." So, I thought the episode was HILARIOUS! But very OOC on Twilight's part.

I actually didn't see it getting out of character at all... from personal experience that personality type will get really crazy over things like that. And it does come out of nowhere.

I know exactly what you mean ZeldaFan. When I first saw the episode I really thought that 'this wasn't the Twilight I knew!' I then went back and watched the episodes from S1 again and saw that, as Mechana says, she really wasn't ooc.
I think it's mostly to do with how the episode takes you by surprise, the episode itself feels so different from the others that you link that to Twilight thinking it was she that was ooc, rather than just getting a different feeling from the episode.

And on Discord's final battle: I actually liked how it ended.
And everypony knows that once the heroes start powering up there is nothing the bad guy can do anymore and all we have to do is sit back and watch the awesomeness. :P
True true, but I think it was just a little bit OOC when:
she used a spell to cause friends to be mad at each other.
That... I thought went a bit overboard. She is not someone who would go to such lengths to do something as insignificant as what she wanted to do was.

Not putting spoilers tags on this, just to leave it open for discussion. So if you haven't reached S2E3 yet, skip this post.

I'll have to give you that, as far as her character shows, she is usually very level headed and caring towards her friends. But there is another part of the story where that fits in. We all sometimes hurt those that we love, especially when we are thinking only about ourselves and our own needs. It happens multiple times with Twilight in the episode, hopping that her friends are in trouble just for her to help them and then at the end hurting them herself. It also happens with the other main characters, when Twilight asks them for help and they brush it aside. It's not usually like them not to help each other, but just like us I would expect them also to be vulnerable to hurting each other even though they don't mean it, and I would expect that even Fluttershy (in her normal mode, not any of her extreme versions) could still hurt one of her friends feelings without meaning to do so.

Also, Twilight Sparkle has a 'want it, need it' spell, and she just about admitted that she has used it before. Why does she know that? And what is she using it on!? :dizzy:

Sounds like an interesting thing to wonder about. I am suprised they have actually developed all of the characters realesticially with all of them having character pros and character cons. Very often in TV shows like this you will find the main character, (I'm only going to name a fellow show on the Hub, Strawberry Shortcake,) seems to be a perfect character, whose only purpose is to show the others what's right and wrong, and doesn't do any wrong herself. The writers in My little Pony have done a much better job of developing the characters then Strawberry Shortcake, or a lot of other shows I've seen have. It also makes me see that Twilight can be as crazy as Pinkie Pie sometimes, (the fact that that's possible is uncanny.) But still, when I re-watch earlier episodes, that version of Twilight pops up in my head continuinlly. I have had some thoughts of being happy when something embarrasing, or silly happens to her just because of that episode (referring to Lesson Zero) knocked into me. Don't get me wrong, I still respect the character as a decent pony, and I am not labeling her as unstable as Pinkie Pie, but still, this episode rubbed me the wrong way, and even after you have convinced me this was in character for Twilight, I clearly see she has just as much friendship troubles as the other 5 of the Mane Six. I don't know, I've just always been used to the main character being the straight, everyman (well I guess in this case, everypony.) But this episode showed real character development, and for that, I guess I have to commend it for showing even the central, organized, smart, and studious protagonist have their bad days.(And in this case, she had a REALLY bad day.)

Sorry for  but hey, I was on a roll.;)
