that's... mmm yeah. I was thinking a bit about HTTYD during the trailer but I can see that this is going to be something very different. I cannot wait, and I love the look they've given to everything, and the hints that mythology might come into play.

It doesn't "Feel" like Pixar, but I think its because the tone seems more serious. I'm actually really excited about it. :)

I am wondering what about this makes people think of HTTYD, outside of the celtic accents. The tone and feel was incredibly different. Any insights?

Camera movements and the environments reminded me mostly. Once the fairy shows up that really went away.

I have one more thing to be excited about for next year now. That trailer looked really awesome!
Whatever the season in life, the RIGHT attitude makes all the difference.

Wow! This looks promising!
I always loved pixar's movies, so I'm looking forward for this one!
This will be a big hit next year!
Too bad we had to wait too long though.... Ah well, it will come.

The full trailer is here!

I'm still excited, though this trailer seemed a bit like very standard fare, for whatever reason. I guess that's what's selling these days. The animation is beautiful, though, and Kelly MacDonald's voice is perfect.

I think... as has happened with several other movies, (UP) the trailer isn't saying everything... just the little bit that someone in marketing thinks will catch the widest audience.

I have learned not to trust Trailers. I am a bit excited about this film and will check it out when it comes out. I think it is interesting that Brenda Chapman is going to be a co-director and that Mark Andrews is going to be making it.

It looks promising, still has a pretty heavy HTTYD vibe to me. Also would it be so hard for pixar to make something completely serious for once. While I think this does look serious the trailer had a few comedy moments that felt out of place. Guess I'll make the intial judgement when the finished product comes out.

I'm a lot less excited for it, to be honest. :( I was hoping for the dark fairy tale that it started out as, seems to me its become toned WAY down from its original vision. Which is to be expected, I think the main creator of it left the project...

Brenda Chapman, the original director, was replaced for unknown reasons. Though the up side is that her original script wasn't replaced.

Last night on Netflix I saw "Kiara the Brave" under the new releases. I guess they've moved on from "Make a cheap knockoff to fool unsuspecting people at the checkout counter in stores" to "Release the cheap knockoff on streaming services before the real thing comes out."

There's something a little similar in the story line. Both want to be more than they are expected to be, but in very different ways.

Seein' this at midnight tonight. Honestly the trailers are leaving me a little cold, but Pixar trailers always do. I'm sure it'll be awesome.

If nothing else, I really dig the way they've animated her hair.

I won't be able to see it tonight. :( But I am excited for it. I love HTTYD, one of my favorite movies, so I'm ok with this having similar vibes. I think it'll be a lot different, though. One thing is that HTTYD was Scandinavian, and this is Scottish. I'm hoping it will still be nice and original, and I think it will be.

It was pretty good. Pretty derivative for Pixar, but I enjoyed it okay. Some severe pacing issues, for sure.

Saw it. I could watch a whole movie that focused on those brothers! ^.^ They were fantastic comic relief. There were some pacing/plot issues - I feel like writing a fanfiction dealing with the backstory of the bear, because that felt... not as in-depth as it should have been. Actually, some of the plot in general felt too thin for what it was trying to do.
More mother x daughter interaction was needed for sure, because a day or two wasn't enough for what was happening, and it would have been nice to see the girl seeing things from her mother's POV at the same time. I wasn't making the connection between their bonding and their issues. Well, I could, but superficially.
But you want to know what the absolutely best part of the movie was? Watching the ad for The Hobbit on the big screen in 3D.

I think I might like the movie more once I see it again. Admittedly, there was one characterwho just sort of depressed me.

I just don't know why.

I like it, but I did find some pacing/plot issues, but it wasn't too annoying. After all, it is a kids movie and you think they going to try and fix the pacing so that it is a longer movie. Kids would get bored and want out of the theater.

I enjoyed Brave and thought although that it could have been paced better, it was good enough for what it was, which was as Roy said- a kids movie.

Before I saw it, I thought it'd be mostly cheesy humor, but I definitely had some great laughs at different points. XD
