Just wanted to add - I always look forward to your threads. They make me laugh, like this little description:

A ten year old succubus princess is required to form a harem but hates men. This show is probably terrible.

About that show, I just recently found a plot point that isn't mentioned and it made me go from just not wanting to watch it, to wanting to actively disparage people who do.

This is (manga version) Dance in the vampire bund, level stuff here.
Blessed be the LORD my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:
My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.

Seconded! xD

Wait, so Bakuman is the only thing going on hiatus...? Other shows are still airing despite the mass chaos?

And welcome back, Falx! :D

Yeah, I figured that what I included should have been enough to ward people away.

Anyway, these should be the final additions:

Young Animator Training Project
Funded by the government, this involves four different original short anime.

Tottoko Hamtaru Dechu
Yeah, that Hamtaro.

Jewelpet Sunshine
More Jewelpet.

Yondemasuyo, Azazel-san
About a detective who summons demons to do stuff and ends up summoning a particularly crappy one. Comedy ensues. Production IG.

Fireball Charming
3D shorts about a robot duchess and what is this i don't even

Sengoku Otome ~Momoiro Paradox~
In the same way Dynasty Warriors ran out of ideas and tapped into the richness of the Sengoku period for more games, so does anime involving female versions of Asian generals.

Sofuteni
Xebec, girls, tennis club, and ecchi shenanigans. Next.

Seikon no Qwaser II
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL no

Honto ni Atta! Reibai Sensei
4-koma manga about an occult teacher who doesn't know how the real world works. By that studio who did that awful Nyarlathotep anime.

Fujilog
A NEET makes a videoblog. Takes place in Saitama.

---

Basically, I don't think anyone had to be worried about missing anything.

ALSO, the new season starts in April, but we may see some shift in airing dates, what with a ton of shows that getting delayed by a week or two this past week. I'll probably find the airing dates once we're in April.

What, AGAIN? Come on. This is almost turning into its own genre.

This could be pretty fun, I'll check it out.

I guess the four short projects would be worth a try as well.

I watched the episode 0 OVA for Nichijou. There were a few parts that were reminiscent of Lucky Star's much disparaged chocolate cornet discussion, but then it goes and does some weird stuff. It's more akin to Azumanga Daioh's surreal (not random) stuff. I'm pretty sure it's not going to be K-ON! and it's already more interesting than A Channel, which is the other 4-koma anime that people are considering.

Also, when the new season lands, keep an eye out for shows we may want to make threads for. I'm already pretty sure that C will be getting one, but we'll see.

Would you say the humor translated from 4-koma to anime better than Azumanga did, or did it kind of have that awkwardness that the anime for Azumanga had?

I'm really interested in checking out:

Hen Zemi
Ao no Exorcist
Deadman Wonderland

And of course season 2 of Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai... Loved the first season, and the ending of that season was amazing, I just kept thinking "man...he's officially lost it, he's officially mad"
If in doubt, flat out.

While I'm sure a couple of you will just brush this off as Fish being Fish, I am contractually obligated to dissuade as many people as possible from watching Deadman Wonderland. If it is even remotely faithful to the Manga, they'll be a few good episodes right at the beginning before suffering a massive drop in quality shortly thereafter.

Seriously guys, save yourselves the disappointment.

It was fine. I think KyoAni refined their 4-koma adaptation approach after Lucky Star, as evidenced by K-ON!, especially for its second season.

Word on the street is that the CR iOS app bugged out and revealed their spring lineup, which is not bad at all:
Ao no Exorcist
Deadman Wonderland
Hanasaku Iroha
Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi
Lotte no Omocha!
Nichijou
Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai
Sekaiichi Hatsukoi
Sket Dance

Ao no Exorcist, as MasterDias mentioned, is the new 5pm Sunday show that's taking over from Star Driver, so that should be relatively big. Nichijou is the first KyoAni show that they've managed to get. And even though Fish is down on DMWL, I'm sure someone out there likes it. Also, Hanasaku Iroha. And I think SKET DANCE is pretty popular too.

And while we're at it, I'm guessing that Funimation has C and AnoHana and that everyone is going to be doing second seasons of shows they've already streamed (like CR and KamiNomi).

Yeah, that's not a bad lineup, although it's still early enough that I really won't be surprised if they added more titles. Didn't they simulcast Gintama too? It seems likely they will go for its continuation as well.

Also, for anyone who is interested, it appears Moshidora is now going to have a regular weekly schedule along with the rest of the season. No clue if they are going to ever make another attempt for the unusual schedule it originally had.

I hadn't been especially looking forward to it, although I was going to probably give it an episode or so at least, but now I'm seriously tempted to watch through it just to see what you dislike so much about it.

Deadman was definitely one of my faves a while back, but I haven't read the most recent chapters.

But watch out, since it's Mature Audiences Only - lots of gore and violence.

I have been super looking forward to Deadman Wonderland, even though I never read the manga. But this warning is a good thing. xD Thank you, Atria!

I figure I should put that warning there. While I still enjoyed the story, I admit that I was shocked when I first started reading it. It was like, "WAIT are those dismembered children and did that guy's head just get cut off?" Just expect lots of gruesome death.

The thing about Deadman Wonderland is the strength of its opening]it's a really good one. You've got a compelling premise, a handful of memorable characters, a good fighting mechanic going, and even an out of nowhere plot twist that doesn't actually feel out of nowhere and actually kind of sort of blows your mind. A little dark and explodey, yeah, you got it; but within that niche, not so bad.

Then...the rest of it happens.

Oh dear oh dear.

The tricky part is Deadman Wonderland, at a glance, will impress, because it's legitimately impressive. At first. The first few episodes will probably be really good and have you clamoring for more. You'll watch three or four episodes and be like, "Man, what was Fish talking about, this is totally the bee's knees."

Then...the rest of it will happen, or as much of the rest of it as I can be bothered to remember because it stuck in my shoe badly enough for me to drop it.

A Channel, AnoHana, and Dog Days have now been added to the CR iOS app list.

It would appear Aniplex owns the streaming rights for AnoHana, much like the Hourou Musuko situation. I'm assuming this isn't some sort of troll on Crunchyroll's part.

So, I thought AnoHana was noitaminA, so doesn't that make it Funimation's? Or am I just wrong about what is noitaminA this season? There are two noitaminA shows per season now, right?

Well, yeah, that's what I was saying.

Funimation's noitaminA deal was with Fuji TV. However, it appears Aniplex is actually who owns the streaming rights to AnoHana (and Hourou Musuko previously), and they licensed it directly to Crunchyroll if this iOS app list is accurate. At least, that's my educated guess as to what happened.

That would make sense then, especially now that Aniplex is distributing its own stuff in the US now. And it's interesting that they're sticking with CR now and have abandoned ANN. I wonder what proportion of shows they have for streaming this season. I was thinking about the past season or two and realized that their (arguably) biggest hits were the ones that weren't available for streaming.

And now for something unexpected.
Viz Media is going to simulcast Tiger & Bunny. Here's the trailer.
This sort of seemed like a series Crunchyroll might get. When was the last time Viz picked up a title that wasn't based on a manga?

Yeah. Madoka and Star Driver, right?
I'm assuming that's because they think that will make the licenses more valuable to perspective distributors, or they plan to just release it themselves somewhere down the line.

I was actually expecting to hear something about Star Driver release plans by this point. They screened the first episode at NYCC/NYAF...and I haven't heard anything since.

Lately it seems I'm finding it hard to find new anime series to watch because they're not really grabbing my interest.

The only ones on the list I'll probably watch (or check out) are
The World God Only Knows S2
(been waiting for this one because I really like the first season even though it wasn't perfect)
Ao no Exorcist
(never heard of it till you brought it up but it actually sound interesting)
X-Men
(hoping it's better than Iron Man which was disappointing and Wolverine which was ok)

Otherwise I'll probably check some of the rest too and see what I think.
So I guess I'll wait and see.

Deadman Wonderland - definitely checking this out
Sengoku Otome - looks interesting
C - I really like the look of this one
An no Exorcist - Sounds like an interesting concept. The son of Satan thing might be a bit much though.
Sket Dance, Hyouge Mono and Dororon Enma-kun Meeramera - I plan on checking these out as time permits, but they're not on the top of my list yet.
