Prayer for my friend and a job

Postby TopazRaven » Mon Jan 17, 2011 8:31 pm

So here I am with yet another prayer request! I make way to many of these I know.

1.) A good friend of mine texted me today and told me she was 6 weeks pregnant. I then procedded to scream, "I'll kill her!" In the middle of the car upon coming home from dinner. She's only 20 years old, still lives with her parents and doesn't make enough money to take care of herself let alone a child. She and her boyfriend planned the pregnancy. My friend has already had two abortions in the past 2 years. The first pregnancy was an accident and so she got an abortion. The second pregnancy was planned, but she takes medication for something and found out the medication she was taking was extremly harmful to the baby and thus she got another abortion because the baby was either going to die before birth or come out deformed or something like that. She didn't go into detail with me because I kind of yelled at her and told her it was the stupidest thing she'd ever done by getting pregnant in the first place. Meanwhile, she was smart enough to talk to a doctor this time. For this third pregnancy she stopped taking the medicine a month before she and her boyfriend concived. I know I'm not supposed to judge others and am supposed to love everyone, but I really don't like her boyfriend. He's a jerk. He doesn't hit her or anything, but he really treats her like crap sometimes and they break up a dozen times a year it seems. He doesn't drive, have a job and still lives with his dad. I'm just afraid he's going to leave her once it really kicks in that they are having a baby. I asked her why she wants to have a baby so badly when she is still so young, not married, doesn't have her own house and doesn't make a lot of money. She simply replied she was ready. I didn't yell at her this time, but I displayed some disapproval over the situation and attempted to lecture her. She seems to think everything is just peachy. She wants me to support her and be there for her, I told her I will, but I can't help, but be angry with her right now. Just please pray the pregnancy goes well, she doesn't change her mind half-way through this, her boyfriend mans up and that the birth will be alright. I worry for this child.

2.) Next, I might be getting a job! I haven't had a job since Feb 2010 so this would be really great! My uncle's girlfriend works at a dental office and they need someone to clean the rooms and equipment. Obviously not my dream job, but it's something for now. I really need to start making in least a little bit of money so I can help pay the bills, buy my pet's food/pay for vet bills (I'm taking care of a cat with a liver disease and it's getting highly expensive) on my own, etc. I still live with my mom and she kindly lets me stay rent-free. I'd be on the streets with nowhere to go without her. Anyway, just wish me luck with this please!
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Will be praying for you and your friend....and I understand your dissappointment you feel for your friend....sometimes people do things that could damage their lives, but sometimes people only learn through the hard way
If someone said 3 years from now
You'd be long gone
Id get up and punch their mouth
Cuz they're all wrong
I know better
Cuz you said forever
And ever
Who knew?

Oh, man. I'm sorry about your friend. It's amazing the lack of foresight that people have when they're in love. Or maybe she just wanted a baby that bad :/ I will admit- I'm cynical, and take everyone to be able to act like an idiot. Especially myself, since if I didn't monitor myself I really would do a whole lot of stupid things =.=" If she does have this kid and everything, I think you'll end up being a good role model.

In any case, really hoping you get the job! Any job helps!

Praying xxx

Topaz While I haven't had pregnancy..i have miscarried due to abusive situations. I will say that in this case, maybe (since it was planned) she felt the baby would make her feel needed, feel better, feel accomplished. who knows. It really seems like she is suffering mentally, emotionally and especially spiritually. It isn't always about intelligence. I pray for this child because even if the baby couldn't choose how it comes into this world, God still loves it. Perhaps if she feels she can't handle having a baby, she would feel adoption would be better. I don't mean to sound judgmental to any parties involved. Just my thinking. And if this upsets you I will edit it and erase it because that is my last intention.

I will be praying for your new job as well. Good luck!

Nope, you're right on the mark pretty much Kuno. I'm sorry about you miscarrying, I hope my post hasn't upset you if anything. I just think she is still very immature and to unstable to raise a child. She claims she is a Christian, but um...I don't want to cross a line here. Most of this kind of stuff has already been discussed in that 'who is a Christian' thread anyway. To put it simply, she focuses to much on her own life. We'll put it at that. That and she thinks she and her boyfriend are going to be together forever even though they seem to break up every few months or so.

Anyway thanks to you and Atria for wishing me good luck on the job! I'm still trying to find out if they're still hiring.

Thanks! No, not so far. My uncle's girlfriend is the one asking for the job for me since she works at the dental office, it doesn't sound like I can just go in and ask (they want someone they know I guess or something), but I am getting a bit impatiant I'll admit. xD As for my friend, nothing new with her yet either.
