Dark Cloud 2

@Armeck
is it any good? is it worth investing? (I'm a fan of the series, but since hero's they haven't done justice)

I just beat Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey on the Neutral path and my first and immediate thoughts were "I need to play this game again right now."

I think that is a sign of a good game. I am all but assured of nominating Strange Journey as the 2010 Game of the Year.

I finished Professor Layton and the Curious Village last night, and am only a few stars away from finishing Super Mario Galaxy 2, so my next game will be The World Ends with You! :thumb:

Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers, a Playstation Store download.

Fun game, and a good tutor for a new MTG player, but there are a couple problems I have with it.

First, you can't build your own deck. You can unlock new decks by winning certain matches, and new cards by winning certain numbers of matches with certain decks. You can then go into Deck Editor and switch out the cards in these pre-made decks. But you can't actually disassemble decks and compose your own from scratch.

Also, the music isn't great, and while there are a few different tracks, the game just seems to pick a track at random and keep repeating it over and over while you play your matches. I just turn the music off and put something in my CD player.

I just finished Kingdom Hearts last night, so now I'm playing Kingdom Hearts II. It only took over two hours to beat Ansem's millions of boss forms. x__x ...And yet I ♥ KH. It's amazing!

I was playing Professor Layton and the Curious Village for a while, but I fail so hard at that game. It has adorable art and lovely music, but the logic problems own me, and... they're the point of the whole puzzle game. Yeah. I don't know what I was expecting when I bought that one... But it's cute! :D

Finished Super Mario Galaxy 2, finally. Those last few stars were harder than defeating Bowser the final time.

Anyway, I've gotten a ways into The World Ends with You, and I like it so far. I have yet to understand just why my sisters are always raving about it so much, but it seems fairly interesting. The music took a little getting accustomed to, and the battles are a bit tricky until you completely give up controlling the top half :/ But I've already been surprised, which is a good sign :thumb:

I also, after much difficulty installing it, began Myst IV: Revelation. Ohhhh man, I'd forgotten how much I love these games! ^_^ It's so fun how you really feel like you are Atrus' friend after all this time, and how they're able more and more to make it feel like you're actually there and they're actually talking to you. Yeesha's acting is a bit inferior, but not too bad.

I've gotten much farther in Myst IV: Revelation; I've completed two Ages and am well on my way through Serenia, which I believe is the final one (not counting Tomahna, since it's kind of the "home base" like Myst was in the first one). I am so in love with this game. It's so cool! *3* I'm also very glad that my brother and I have been able to figure out most of the puzzles on our own, rather than resorting to walkthroughs all the time. And I'm already experiencing the moral dilemma which is always present in Myst games >:|

I've also played a lot of Super Smash Bros. Brawl with my siblings as our Christmas tradition.

Got the disc drive on my Wii fixed - I see Mario Kart and SSBB in my future, and now, a whole new section of the game store has been opened to me.

Also, I put Civilization 4 (with both expansions) on my laptop, and I managed to drag myself away from another of the 18-civ, Marathon-speed games I'm so fond of but never get around to finishing, to post this.

Just finished playing through Chrono Trigger in Japanese for the first time. ^^

Sometime since I last posted in this thread (it’s been years, actually), I also played through Seiken Densetsu 3 once (in English) and Romancing Saga 3 at least twice (English and Japanese), both of which are games that were never released in the States. Seiken Densetsu 3 has probably the best graphics out of any game ever released on Super Famicom—even compared to Chrono Trigger—but other than that, it was just okay, nothing like the sheer magic of Seiken Densetsu 2 (Secret of Mana). Because of its threadbare and somewhat tedious plot, which is mostly a bunch of fetch quests strung together, I probably won’t replay this one again anytime soon. Romancing Saga 3, on the other hand, is now among my favorite RPGs, right up there with Chrono Trigger/Cross and FFVI.

Anyway used my brother's gift (a Wal-Mart gift card) to buy Kirby's Epic Yarn. I LOVE IT. I am addicted to finding hidden gifts so I can decorate Kirby's apartment!

After my deposit goes through tomorrow I'll also be buying Grubbins on Ice, the DLC for Costume Quest, as well as the Arc the Lad II/Arc Arena bundle, and the 5 SBCG4AP bundle for 15 bucks! And that's on TOP of me playing through Odin Sphere again lately.

Kirby's Epic Yarn and Monster Hunter Tri, mostly the latter. If you look up the definition of freakin' awesome, you'll find both games listed, ESPECIALLY the latter.

Played Metal Slug X (an upgraded version of 2) and 3 over the last week. Man, where have these games been all my life? Wow.

They're both awesome, awesome games, but I think I like X a bit better. 3's great, what with its zombie level, fights with giant mutated and/or robot crabs and that marathon of a last stage (which includes a shmup level and fights with alien zombie versions of yourself), but it doesn't have that one climbing boss. So you're going up a tower in some ancient ruin, and then this pair of mechanical alligator jaws snaps onto the tower and starts gnawing its way upwards.

Then there's that level where you fight a plane that drops tanks on you and a robot spider thing, all on top of moving flatbed train cars, and the one with the wall-crawling mutant dog-things, an Independence Day homage...yeah, X is just more awesome. But both games deserve all the praise they've gotten.

Ratchet & Clank: Future... in JAPANESE!!! XD Thank you, Sony, for making the PS3 region-free! ^-^ Makoto Tsumura's voice took a bit of getting-used-to, and the menus are sometimes tricky to navigate (guess I haven't memorized those games as well as I thought o_0), but I'm totally having a blast! ^_________^

I finished Myst IV: Revelation and...oh my goodness. It got a bit trippy towards the end, but that was an amazing game :dizzy:

Then my brother and I steamrollered through the old adventure game The Last Express in a week or so. So amazing! :wow!: How did this sell so poorly when it first came out?! It's awesome! Rotoscoped in some places, so realistic, historically accurate, engaging.... What a great game.

Oh, and I played a bit more of The World Ends with You, and rediscovered my love for free indie games - StepMania, Squares X, Pteranodon, Geoffrey the Fly....

I'm playing Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep... and I'm failing at it. If anyone has any bright ideas on how to defeat Xehanort, I would love to hear them~!

Oh yeah, and Terra needs to watch more Disney movies so that he can tell who the bad guys are, because he seriously can't figure that out.

Do you mean playing RIGHT NOW? Like litereally as I type? Or just as in...in the process of going through? I'm guessing mostly the latter, so.....

Nothing really, at the moment. I plan on finishing Unreal again at a harder difficulty level, and I still haven't finished all of Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga.

Finished:
Uncharted: Drake's fortune (PS3)
A lot of fun and an interesting story except for the
undead Nazis. Why? they're like a trope at this point
Still working on:
Little king's story

Picked up:

Valkyreia Chronicles (sp?)
Great game play and decent story, Welkin's philosophizing is kind of annoying though...

Galactic Civilizations II
Great 4X strategy game, with a wonderful sense of humor.
Are you sure you want to quit?
(a few more turns won't hurt.)

and some rather tongue-in-cheek descriptions for technologies.
