This. Oh my goodness, this. Then I heard her in Noein, and went, "whoa, that's Toboe?!" I wasn't as fond of her accent in Noein, but she certainly does have quite a range!

That's how good he is.)
His anime roles include:
Duo Maxwell in Gundam Wing
Piccolo in Dragonball Z (the Ocean dub. The one that spawned the "over 9000" meme)
Koga in Inuyasha (the leader of the wolf-demons)
Hohenheim Elric in original FullMetal Alchemist anime
Ali Al-Saachez in Gundam 00

I actually met him at Louisianime last week! I swear, he is the coolest guy around. And his work in anime is equally cool! Especially his work as Koga in "Inuyasha". Its one of the few bright points in the show, to me anyway.

Child actors are extremely rare in voice acting, due to the obvious (school and such). Our next subject is one of them: Aaron Dismuke! (this should get some squees ;-))
Here's some notable roles:
Alphonse Elric in original Fullmetal Alchemist
Ion Fortuna in Trinity Blood
Young Hohenheim in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.
One thing I don't like about child actors is that once puberty hits, that's usually the time their careers hit the slump. Look at Haley Joel Osment, he certainly hasn't done much lately. Here's hoping the same doesn't happen to Dismuke. He certainly has talent.

Kuwabara in Yu Yu Hakusho,
Masa-San in Seto no Hanayome or My Bride is a Mermaid
Alex Armstrong in Fullmetal Alchemist (First anime and Brotherhood)
And I believe he had the role of Giroro in Sgt. Frog

Scott McNeil!!!! Hohenheim, yeah! Heheh, he sure makes a good Hohenheim - even looks a bit like him! (Nitpicker's note: Hohenheim is actually his last name, so he's not "Hohenheim Elric" - Elric is their mother's surname. Daddy-o's full name is actually Theophrastus Bombastus van Hohenheim :P )

And YEAH AARON DISMUKE!!!! I loooooved his work as Al; he was absolutely the best possible person for the role. Just...amazing in some parts. And he's also really smart and easygoing, too, which all adds up to him being a very cool person indeed. I sure hope he goes on to get more roles, because if he was like that at the beginning of his career...I can't wait to hear him a few more years down the road. I haven't heard his Young Hohenheim voice yet, but I had to chuckle when I found out about it - now Hohenheim looks like Ed and sounds like Al! :P

Steve Kramer actually has many names. You may also see him listed as Drew Levi Thomas, Drew Lexi Thomas, and Drew Thomas. Or they might spell his real last name Kraemer. His roles include:
006 in Cyborg 009
Axel Thurston in Eureka Seven
Third Hokage in Naruto
Takuya Mayuzumi, Isuka, and The Time Drifter in Noein
Dr. Gensai in Rurouni Kenshin
Angelo Dante in Robotech
Roy in Akira (one of his Drew Thomas roles)

Aaron Dismuke has an awesome voice during and even after Fullmetal Alchemist. Puberty has done a number on his voice, but it's all for the better. I heard him play Honey-Sempai's brother in "Ouran High School Host Club" and I have to admit, he sounds almost 100% different and 100% awesome. He also sounds remarkable as Yoki (Young Ginko) in "Mushi-Shi)

Funny note: in the english dub of the Fullmetal Alchemist Premium OVA (The Chibi Wrap Party for the "Conquers of Shambala" movie) there are a few lines that allude to the change in Aaron's voice. It's too funny. Linkness follows:

Now it's time to make your heads explode. Lex Lang is our next profile. AKA Walter Lang, he's voiced some Power Rangers villains on Power Rangers Zeo (Louie Kaboom, although he wasn't credited :() Power Rangers in Space (Ecliptor), and Power Rangers Wild Force (Zen Aku). He currently voices on Batman the Brave and the Bold and has also worked on Avatar: The Last Air Bender. His anime credits include:

Bismarck Waldstein in Code Geass
Carmine Spider in Kikaider
Goemon in Lupin III (TV version)

I almost didn't want to include Dan Green because most of his work has been in 4Kids, but I feel that we shouldn't judge him by who he works for, especially since he's done voice work outside of 4Kids as well. His credits include:
Yugi (both forms) in Yu-gi-Oh!
Knuckles in Sonic X
various characters in Pokemon
Nabuca in Now and Then (he was pretty good here)

double posting, sorta. I guess I almost killed this thread with Dan Green. Time to get it back on track.
Our next subject is Laura Bailey, who's mostly worked for FUNimation. In addition to anime, she can also be heard as Rayne in the Blood Rayne games.
Anime roles include:
Mashiro Kuna, Tia Harribel in Bleach
Marlene Angel in Blue Gender
Suzaku Kururugi (young), Rakshata Chawla, Nagisa Chiba, Kallen's stepmother in Code Geass
Young Chi-Chi and Colonel Violet in Dragonball
Young Dende, Young Trunks and Marron in Dragonball Z
Lust in Full Metal Alchemist (both versions)
Tohru Honda in Fruits Basket
Henrietta in Gunslinger Girl
Tokine Yukimura in Kekkaishi
Dieter in Monster
Keiko Yukimura in Yu Yu Hakusho (TV version)

I know Dan Green as Entei from Pokemon the Movie 3

And I looooove Laura Bailey's voice! She makes an awesome Lust, and an astounding Sana from Kodocha! Two drastically different but very good roles.

This thread is reminding me how much I need to watch the Monster dub. And it also sounds like I need to watch the Gunslinger Girl dub! *mostly watches subs*

Now let's look at Michael McConnohie. He has a great deep voice, but he can also ham it up.
Schwartzwald in The Big O
Big Daddy in Gun Grave (he actually made me like a mafia boss)
Detective Ikari in Paranoia Agent
Ryuken Ishida, Shawlong Qufang, Chojiro Sasakibe, Shiroganehiko, and Kuroudo in Bleach

I had to look up some other roles because I didn't recognize any in the above list, but now that I discovered that he played Captain Jurgens in "Eureka Seven" and Dolf in "Planetes", I have to admit, he's really good! His deep controlled vocal register is also very nice.

Laura Bailey has THE most awesome voice in anime, it's not even funny! I love JUST ABOUT every role she plays. The only role of hers that gave me many a facepalm moment was her portrayal of Tohru Honda from "Fruits Basket". Granted I'm not that big a fan of Tohru as a character, but add this super-sappy sweet voice to the mix, and it REALLY makes me glad that there are other roles that Laura Bailey did awesome in to counter it like Marlene Angel in "Blue Gender" and Sana Kurata in "Kodocha".

Kari Wahlgren has a large body of work in western, anime, and video games. If you're one of the few who saw the Legion of Superheroes cartoon, she played Saturn Girl (and did a pretty good job too) Here's some anime roles:
Saya in Blood+
Sakura in Cardcaptors
Guinevere su Britannia, Ichijiku Hinata, and Marianne vi Britannia in Code Geass
Mika Asagi in Gungrave
Lavie in Last Exile
Tayuya, Hana Inuzuka, Ranmaru, Mikoto Uchiha in Naruto
Scarlett O' Hara (no not that one) in Steamboy
the title role in Witch Hunter Robin (she was perfect!)
Cher Degre in Wolf's Rain (isn't that the girl that was also a flower?, it's been too long)

Michael McConnohie - THE COMMUNICATOR IN HAIBANE RENMEI!!!! Lol, probably everyone's going :eyebrow: at me now. But I always loved his voice, so low and smooth and soothing! I thought at first he sounded kind of like Slicer in FMA, but I guess not :/

Kari Wahlgren - Cher from Wolf's Rain! Oh, and rocklobster, Cher is the wife scientist lady who leaves her husband, Hubb (who has the silliest name in the whole show XD). I don't remember what her voice sounds like, though.... And dude, she sure goes by quite a few different names! :dizzy:

She's been in video games, American animated shows, video games...and in each one, she plays the characters to a tee...my favorites are Haruhara Haruko in "FLCL" and Kagami Hiragi in "Lucky Star".

Oh, and Rocklobster, the flower girl you mentioned was played by Sherry Lynn.

I didn't know she was both Sakura and Lavie! Even though Sakura's voicing gets a lot of heat, I thought she was wonderful in both those roles.

Laura Baily! ^.^ Her voice is just so... yay! I love her! I did like Furuba (Fruits Basket) I'll admit. She's even better as Lust in FMA! :D

Sherry Lynn... her voice is so nice when she played Cheza in Wolf's Rain.

Sherry Walhgren is AWESOME as Cher! (also Wolf's Rain) :D

I like Aaron Dismuke too. He was pretty good as Akito in Furuba and Alphonse in FMA! ^.^

I'll list more I'm sure.

Since KBS brought her up, let's shine the spotlight on Sherry Lynn. She mostly plays young girls, and seems to have the perfect voice for it. Her roles include:
the Tachikomas in Ghost in the Shell
Sasami in Tenchi Muyo (my fave voice for her! She fits this character well.)
Cheza in Wolf's Rain (as previously mentioned)
the stuck up rich girl in Kiki's Delivery Service (the one Kiki delivers the pie to)
and to keep this thread going, I'll bring in Colleen Clinkbeard, another Lousiana native, just like Kyle Hebert (she hails from Shreveport. That means she must be from a faraway land. OK, only you Disney fans will get that reference). I think she has a great range and is one of the best. Here's some of her excellent work:
Nice Holystone in Baccano
Ishiguro Izumi in Beck Mongolian Chop Squad
Rachel Moore in Case Closed/Detective Conan
Gohan in Dragonball Z
Riza Hawkeye and Rose Thomas in Fullmetal Alchemist (both versions)
Priscilla in Gunslinger Girl
Esther Blanchett in Trinity Blood
Monkey D. Luffy in One Piece (I'm assuming the FUNimation dub)
Eclair in Kiddy Grade (another great role for her)

Sherry Lynn made such a sweet, calm voice for Cheza in Wolf's Rain! ^_^

I like Colleen Clinkenbeard's voice; it can be nice and low, which I find soothing for female voices. I really like the way she plays Hawkeye in all the FMA stuff; it pretty much fits exactly my mental image of what that character would sound like. I also liked the way she did Misako Kurata in Kodocha; it fit the Japanese voice very well. I also remember her as Yuko in Tsubasa Chronicle.

This is reminding me that I need to watch the Gunslinger Girl dub! >_<
You can find out things about the past that you never knew. And from what you've learned, you may see some things differently in the present. You're the one that changes. Not the past.

For me, I love the work of Richard Hayworth. He and the original Japanese voice actor GOT Kenshin Himura and convinced me that it was Kenshin speaking, not them. Then Hayworth does a 180 and plays the very chilling villain in Trigun.

Then there's Steve Blum. From playing one of the coolest bad guys in anime history, Makoto Shishio of the Kenshin story, to playing the coolest bounty hunter in space Spike Spiegel. Steve just has that voice that is perfect for the industry he works in. It's both versatile and easy to connect with.

Then there's Dorothy Melendrez. If I'm not mistaken, she played both Kaoru of the Kenshin storyline AND Meryl Strife of Trigun. She just has a beautiful, sweet, innocent voice.

Richard Epcar is quite cool himself as is Vic Mignona. BTW, it'd take forever and a half to list all the American Voice Actors I like, so I'll stop here. But to those of you in the industry, thanks for being voice actors!

I own this DVD...it's pretty interesting, but really, the information isn't anything you couldn't find elsewhere. As soon as I got about halfway through it, I wish I hadn't spent the money on it. :P
